Arghhh just had a call from OH some one put flour and ketchup all over my car last night  along with my windscreen wipers getting ripped off and my wing mirror this is the last straw. We are not staying here.
Some lovely neighbour cleaned it off for me, but i can't park my car safely, not to mention there never being any parking spaces (it's permit only, so how comes no one has one! )

Bramble - That's just plain nasty, why can't folk leave people's things alone?
Silvermaid - Hugs to you.
Cranky - Well done on the weight loss!
Sistercas - Hope things improve soon.
Bob Dylan isn't really my thing either (says she who thought Take That weren't much good till I went to see them on Thursday!).
Well, no heatwave here - it's about 15 degrees and pouring down. Occasionally it rains really hard! Of course I thought it would be lovely and have stripped the beds. Oh well, it will have to hang about inside.
Have been and got sealant for DDs bathroom, I think the water from the shower is leaking around the overflow for the bath so I have cleaned and dried it and put sealant on, will see in the morning when she uses it. Have also got some expanding foam for the gaps around the rafters (we have a vaulted ceiling in the hall) to try to stop the bats coming in. There was one in last night when I came in from work!
Have thrown the vac about and generally tidied up, DD at work and I will be starting at 7. Going to have salmon, noodles and stir fry for tea.
Have good days all, take care. XX0 -
Hello Peeps,
Thanks for all the kind words, I really appreciate the thoughts x
DGSs 1 & 2 got dropped off at 8:00 this morning along with DD1. She needed a lift at 8:30 and DD2 needed a lift to work for 9:00.
Fed the 3 DGSs burgers and pizza for lunch - not hm pizza though as they like a particular bought variety.
Will be having chicken tikka salad for dinner when things have cooled down a bit. Thought the heatwave was fantasy this morning but the cloud burned off by 10:00ish and it has been glorious ever since.
Hugs to all in want or need and thanks again for the kind thoughts, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

I've calmed down now, need to write a thank you note to the lovely neighbour i've found out who it is! - but i've no nice paper at all, filofax paper is all i have
Wash no. 3 is in the machine, and clothes are drying outside at an amazing rate.
House is lovely and tidy and I've filled puppy's paddling pool for him so he's been splashing around in the garden - it's a bit too hot to walk him, so he'll have to make do with diving for toys till it gets cooler.
OH said fishing may go well into the night, so it's just me around the house, BIL hasn't turned up yet, i expect he's out with his mates (don't blame him! Wish i saw mine more often!)
Will have a look on rightmove see what properties are available at the moment and work out a budget for movingtold OH i've had enough - he's not in love with the house so we're going to knock the rent down stairs too idea on the head and make a move when the contract is up in April.

I was wondering where this heatwave was, it was cool in the house. About half an hour ago, I opened the back door and stepped out and it hit me full in the face
My flip-flops were outside the back door, I put them on and immediately took them back off, they were too hot to wear.
I ran to the strawberry pots, grabbed a couple of strawbs and ran back in, lol.
We've just had to go back outside, 2 bottles of elderflower champagne decided to explode in the shed. It was extra fizzy, we were carefully pouring it into plastic bottles through a funnel but it fizzed everywhere so we caught it in half-pint glasses. Which we drank straight away. It's usually about 3-4% (I'm guessing) but this was waaaayyy stronger. I'm feeling the lovely effects already
The chickens are really hot (even though there's plenty of shade for them) so mr tru filled a tray with water and stood one in it. She looked a bit confused then actually paddled :rotfl: Wish I'd filmed it.
We've just had an invitation to my cousin's baby's christening. Not the actual christening itself, just the party-in-a-posh-hotel afterwards. That's the wrong way round for most people, but this cousin and her two sisters (and their mum, come to think of it) are all about what they can get. So we've actually been invited to buy presents - just like every other event they put on. Usually I'd say no, but I might turn up to this one, eat the lovely posh food and just give them a cardBulletproof0 -
Just popping in for a quick catch up because we are off to the pub by the lock later for a nice family evening
even DD's BF is coming (He is not a good traveller and has panic attacks) but he trusts DH's driving, so that is a move in the right direction.
DD and six of her friends did race for life this morning and she has raised £200 so I am really proud of her it was boiling hot then and it is even hotter now:eek:
Managed to get all the bedding done today and dried on the line - I still have some out so I will check that in a mo.
JackieG..... Thought you had given up on us x
Silver ((((Hugs)))) Baby steps hun it takes time to get over the loss of a Mum x
Cranky well done on the weight loss :T
Well I am off to check the washing and get my lot fed (chicken tikka, kebabs and salad tonight)
Enjoy the weather while we have have it - another hot one is forecast for tomorrow.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Afternoon all
Thought I'd share my lovely day with you.....
Beautiful here today and I made some gooseberry jam this morning. Delicious-OH is pleased as he loves jam.. We bought the gooseberries yesterday and I was going to make jam yesterday evening but we got unexpectedly invited out for dinner.
This afternoon we went to a small lavender farm near Bath which was amazing. It was free to go in so very OS. We admired all the different lavenders growing and the two amazing fields. We had a cuppa and shared a piece of lavender cake. That was delicious and I am going to make some. We bought a lavender plant and a couple of other plants. They were reasonably priced too so OS again. The smell of the flowers was just out of this world as we were sitting on the lawn outside the cafe.
I made scones when we got home because we had to test the jam (of course) and we had clotted cream with them so that was delicious. OH is cutting the front lawn as we speak and I will cook spaghetti bolognese later. We will relax in the garden later with a glass of vino as we don't work Mondays. What a nice day!
I hope you all have a lovely evening and ((hugs)) to those who need them.

I've seen Bob Dylan 3 times now, and he never engages with the audience, but he makes up for it with his singing imo;):D
I am with you both on this, I LOVE his music :j
Turned out to be a scorcher here, got loads done in the garden, potted all my toms into hanging baskets, weeded, and had a general tidy up, OH mowed.
Cooked a shepherds pie, was delish, won a coffee table on ebay for £6.50 and collected it today, it needs a sand down and re waxing but its great.
Bedding washed dried and back on the bed, packed up more ebay parcels ready to post tomorrow.
Going to sit and have a drinkie tonight and watch Top Gear :T
Bramble, poor you xx
Have fun all xx0 -
Can I ask you all for prayers, hugs and whatever positive vibes you all have for one of our MSE friends who really needs them. Sending them her way.........xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
