So him harming your family whilst insured is better then him harming your family without insurance? Man you are sick. That's like saying "My wife was raped... But not to worry... The rapist wore a condom." You seem to be missing the whole point which would be... YOUR WIFE WAS F**ING RAPED! Ehem.
PS: Oh, and you keep being proud about how the police waste most of their time chasing after non-dangerous people. (waste is the wrong word. They love it.) Carry on being proud that car insurance has inflated by over 60% all because of the companies themselves. You're doing this county a hell of a lot of good.
Well done!0 -
How will you be compensated if you lose a loved one to an uninsured driver? What systems are in place to return them?sarahg1969 wrote: »If you are hit by an uninsured driver, by the way, you will be compensated. exactly the same would happen if the driver was fully insured, you cant bring back the dead no matter how good the insurance policy so this part of the arguement is invalid. if a driver is uninsured, yes they are breaking the law but they are no more likely to hit you that an insured driver. either way the injured party will get compensation.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
You cannot be adequately compensated for your loved ones being killed, I was just commenting on the glib post thinking that everything would be OK cos there is MIB coverpaddedjohn wrote: »exactly the same would happen if the driver was fully insured, you cant bring back the dead no matter how good the insurance policy so this part of the arguement is invalid. if a driver is uninsured, yes they are breaking the law but they are no more likely to hit you that an insured driver. either way the injured party will get compensation.
The OP seems to think the police have done them an injustice, whereas the police treated them with a fair bit of compassion.
Whining too much about injustice for my liking.I would like to live in Theory, because everything works there0 -

Or the alternative - financially cripple the poor sod who gets hit by an uninsured driver, writing off his car which is probably worth a lot more than £1,000.0 -

They're financially crippling me when I'm paying my insurance. So what is your point?Good job you aren't then really.
Because you know me so well?0 -
The point is - if you drive without insurance for whatever reason, you will be fined (leniently IMHO), so get over it and stop moaning. 99% of people never have a problem with buying insurance. It is the responsibility of the driver to check this is in place, including ensuring e.g. direct debit payments are coming out of an account or that 30 day cover notices have not expired, without expecting to be reminded.
Rather then trying to blame the police who are just doing their job, accept that you/your sister's boyfriend made a mistake (honest or otherwise) and now has to pay the penalty. What sort of legal system do you think we'd have if every time someone broke the law, they could just say 'oh sorry, it was an honest mistake'?0 -

But then you don't need to worry about insurance costs do you?0
