goonarmy seems to have gone rather quiet. Or perhaps he's reworking his wedding plans. Um, perhaps not.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

How much do you owe in total on your credit cards?
Do you have an overdraft? are you in it every month?
    Are you a homeowner?
How much do you have in savings?
What are the APRs on the cards and how much available credit is on them?
This is sounding much more sensible an answer.
    Total owing on cards=2.5k
Over draft of 2300(legacy of being a student) im always in it, take home money clears it interest is only chanrged on anything over 2k, I rarely get that far into my overdraft.
Savings for me 3k, savings for us as a couple a 500 ish give or take.
Im a tennant. The APR on the cards I use are around 27% barclays student card, capital one platnium.
Total credit accross all 4 cards is 12kish.the other two cards are santander and nationwide. Both of these had a 0% balance transfer and have not been spent on apart from the BT.

That's half your entire annual salary in available credit, so no more will be available to you as I mentioned on p1

Close down the cards, etc and you may be able to get a loan a cpl months after

You do not want to pay for a wedding on a loan. We saved up for ours and it was the best thing we done. For my bridal car we used a friends flashy car, I done my own cake at a cost of £60 same two tiered cake would have cost £500 from a baker. Flowers were artificial you could not honestly tell the difference. You can cut many corners if you look and tell the bride to ask the dress shop for a discount or free veil or she walks away to another shop !! I done that and got the free veil worth £250 ! :) :j:j:j
not having a car-its a civil cermony at one place with hotel for us and our parnets included.Wifey to be side of the family work in the booze industry so champers is coming from them as a gift.Shes not having a veil and all jewererlly is bought by the mother in law to be.We're have ing the middle of the road option on food with no canapes etc cos its seems to be about enough food without scrimping.Flowers are being done by a freind of the family and they are 50% cheaper than any one else, plus her dad is paying half of this.I certianly havent rushed into this and we have considered all options with regards to prices.

If you've planned it and done so many savings, why do you need such a big loan?

As advised, with the CCs you are unlikely to get a loan. Look at what you would be paying in loan repayments and try to save that extra money now towards the wedding.

See if there are any other corners you can cut to reduce the money you currently need for the wedding. You do want to enjoy the day, but you can do that without ending up spending years paying for it.

no was off doing this overtime i speak of, anyone see me dressed in orange disco suit 4 am this morning messing around on railways?
I think a few people have miss read this thread. A summury of my OP is: Im looking to spend 15k. I think i have 7.5k-ish of that. The remainder im looking at unsecured loans for as i suspect the repayment times will be favorable to getting the money on me CC's.
Regardless of what its for and summising of values for money:real love ratios and wedded life expactancy what is the best course of action for me? I suspect if i said i was interested in a car for the the figures quoted above the repsonses would varied greatly, remeber first post i stated long time lurker, so have seen the standard of previous replies...

well main expense is venue and clothing. The wedding is held on a monday which makes it cheaper but i agree its not cheap!Honey moon is being partatially funded by my folks to the tune of 2 k but tell some one its a honey moon they want 5k for a 1500 quid trip:(

I've never met a good, decent and sensible woman who'd want sixteen grand of hideous debt round her neck for a silly wedding....must be moving in the wrong circles I guess.

All women like nice things but this plan has financial blackhole written all over it.
where are you getting thes figures from?
    Possibly the right circles....

In case it reassures you, people are also generally very down on loans for cars or pretty much all other purposes!
