Just to update you all on my breast feeding courses for new mummies.

We ran a cycle of four courses with an attendance average of 80% and 15 mummies per course.

Unfortunately, whilst I do have further breast feeding education planned, the midwife I was using has had some health setbacks , so I am having to take on some of her duties as well.

Its been an incredibly rewarding experience, none of the mummies had issues with me being a male, and you would not believe the thankyou cards I have received.

wow what lucky mummies - which of her duties have you taken on - the deliveries or just the ante natal care?

I think this thread just crossed the line from "oh wow I really hope this is a wind-up" to "so ridiculous it MUST be a wind-up". You, a man with no health qualifications or background knowledge of birthing or breastfeeding (I assume given that you cite a leaflet as your main source of info in the first post) will be physically involved in helping nursing babies latch on to the breast. No, I'm sorry but I can't suspend my disbelief that far. Who here would allow a man they don't know, who isn't their doctor, nurse or midwife, to mess with their boobs and tell them how to feed their baby? Don't everyone shout at once!

I don't know if you're aware of this tod, but there's thing newfangled invention called television that allows you to entertain yourself without annoying random strangers over the internet. Maybe you should try it?
