    Sorry, for the confusion.

HSBC have said yes, no problems - paying them £50.

It's Halifax One card who are insisting that we contact Payplan or CCCS so that they can arrange a figure. I don't have an ND reference number - do you think I could get one?

Yes, we have included the Capital One card in the DMP, they got the same letters as the others. So why they've reacted with a new card and a lower interest rate I have no idea.

that sounds a bit cheeky to me. mbna suggested i contact cccs but i told them i wanted to deal with it myself and that was that... surely they can't make you do it?

    Were they okay with that?

I'm going to try milliejon's suggestion and get a number from the National Debtline.

Hopefully that will help. If not I'll wait for Mint or Capital One then it's over 75% so I'll send that letter

I just got my reference number from the letter they send with the hard copy of the information I requested from them. I asked for the information pack and they sent it through within a week, and the letter had a reference on it.

That was about two years ago, so it may have changed since, but it's worth a try.

Otherwise, I would agree with Doodah's suggestion.

Argh, have spoken to National Debtline and the woman got totalled confused and put the figures down wrong. Apparently they only deal with an income figure after business costs for Self Employed people and we need to ring a different number to get the pack.

    Good news, bad news today...

    Good...
Got the final electricity bill - £106.82 CR :D Gonna phone them later and ask for it back,
Got a response from HSBC re: bank charges - offer of £508 (which is about 75% of what I asked for)

    But, bad news...
£54.60 owed in NI, must be paid within 28 days

I guess the best option is to use the Electricity for the NI and stick the rest in the new account, and keep pursuing the charges?

Perusing for the rest of the money and Dad's given up again, so I've decided to save the joint account by everything I've lowered (elec, gas, phone, food), taking over all the debt repayments and giving him the allowance from the budget.
Then if his account has problems then that's his problem.

    Can't do anymore

Capital One are being arsy

Still nothing from Mint or Halifax One - both are meant to be calling us

Still, dad has now got a new current account so the HSBC overdraft can be treated as a debt and paid off now :)
