Looks really nice from outside - like the windows and bet it would look great painted cream.

Maybe a neutral Plain carpet in living room?

One of the bedrooms was very messy and cluttered - I am guessing the 20 YO - get her to tidy it or don't include a photo.

Kitchen looks ok - take all the bits of paper off the units, could behind the cooker be re-tiled with some plain tiles in a cream shade to match in with the small brown mosaic type tiles on either side?

And then a general de-clutter eg.what is all the 'stuff' on corner unit in dining room?

Could you find somewhere else to put some of your packed up "stuff" or pay for some self storage? I know its what I'll have to do if I ever sell up.

  • Also I can't make sense of the sectioned-off bits of the garden. And the fencing isn't the same so it looks like a mish-mash.

PLEASE repaint the exterior and the window frames white!

I think this colour UPVC windows are so much nicer than the usual white

If living in wet old Wales, many people are happy to see brightly coloured houses: it's pretty commonplace, as tyllwyd suggests.

The good bit is that the Op's house looks well maintained.

I agree with the others comments on de-cluttering though. Lots of "stuff" makes people feel that there is perhaps a shortage of storage space.

I'd take down that seascape in pic 3 and clear the mantelshelf and window ledge of ornaments

Drawings/cards etc stuck to kitchen cupboards and junk on top of kitchen cupboards should be removed, take tea towels off range door.

Pictures off walls in bathroom, clutter taken off washbasin side and window ledge.

Picture 8 seems to be a shot of a full wall of wardrobes but as there is much clutter in the room it shouts " still not enough storage space"

Pictures 9/10/11 - box all that kiddie clutter and temporarily bung it in the loft/shed /at granny's

Maybe dress double bed with lighter bed linen - yes, potential buyers aren't buying the bed but it would have the effect of making that room seem less dark.

I wouldn't look past the first picture, as the orange would put me off. The angle that the picture is taken from also makes it look kind of lopsided, all in all not a great starting point.

Others have mentioned decluttering the house, so I won't dwell on that, but the garden could also use a bit of work. Is there any way you could get rid of the trampoline and the fence in front of it. It is hard to see how big the garden is. Perhaps the length of the garden could be included in the description?

I don't thunk that colour is orange. It looks more like terra-cotta to me and I agree with OP that it's traditional colour.

It did say teracotta on the tin.

Terracotta is a shade of orange. The OP asked for opinions, just stating mine.

The orange exterior doesn't look so bright on streetview. Maybe the first picture needs some adjusting to the colours to make it less bright.

I need a floor plan to visualise the rooms you have

A lot of the rooms (especially the bedrooms) look smaller than they are because of the amount of stuff on display

Garden - could you photograph from above the nearest fences, the make the layout simpler?

Could you try photos with the lights in the rooms turned on - it might help in the bathroom?

The Key features - why use "C/H & Dbl" when you could write these things in full

Also the Full description section uses all capitals, then when these finish a second description starts (the bit from "The mid terrace stone and slate ...") which seems to be separate from the shouty bit (ie why put "OIL CENTRALLY HEATED" and "oil central heated").

Thanks all the comments gratefully recieved - think we will have to try and declutter / depersonalise and take some more photos for the EA to use.
IF the weather breaks we have the paint for the front of the house so we could repaint cream
