Well justification took a step closer yesterday. I recieved a letter saying that my complaint was being passed onto the relevant department who "will contact me in due course"

I have my paperwork for a loan I had which I paid off in 2006. I have a loan reference number but when I ring Britannica-Moorgate they say that they don't have a record it the loan or even my name and Ive had various egg loans throughout the years. I have quite a lot of PPI to claim back as they told me I wouldn't get the loan if I didn't take out at least one of the options but Ive been self employed since 2002 so it wouldn't be applicable (apart from them FORCING it onto me!).
Ive now been on hold to Egg for an hour today (still on hold while typing) and an hour yesterday... What can I do? Britannica were actually REALLY rude to me and told me to "Ring Egg, we've got loads of stuff to deal with and we can't help without a proper reference number" I HAVE the paperwork so surely they are pulling the wool over my eyes?
Anyone else had a problem with this?

If you have the account number then just commence with the claim for mis sell enclose a copy of the agreement, do one to Egg too, hedge your bets !!.

On the agreement is the PPI and interest listed separately to the loan amount and interest and did you make one monthly payment to the loan and PPI?.

I had two loans, and I think I have both numbers.One piece of paperwork states the loan amount and the term plus a breakdown of what they will be taking in PPI and interest (totalling £1958.40!)

The other one Im not sure whether it was more than 10 years ago... I can't claim for that though can I? But I haven't got the whole paperwork for that one so don't have a breakdown.

Im just re-addressing the letter I wrote [to Barclaycard] to Egg now, as I thought they'd taken the loans too. I had letters back saying they couldn't help so I rung them and they acknowledged my credit card PPI complaint straight away and said they'd ben in touch via correspondence... This is so underhand isn't it!
