  • What about the other points I would like to make to Egg? Do you think they would strengthen my claim? If so how should I make Egg aware of them?

Hi there, what were the original reasons you put in for mis sell?.
You may not need to add anymore,if you do, then just contact Egg and ask them to add these to your complaint.
  • I've claimed on the grounds that I thought PPI was compulsory. The points I didn't make in my complaint were:
    1) I was employed at the time but Egg did not inform me that any change to this could invalidate sections of the policy during its life. I was not asked about any intended charges or informed or warned of their effects on the policy.
    2) Egg stated or led me to believe that taking out a policy would improve my chances of a successful application for a loan.
    3) Egg did not offer me a clear choice of the loan with and without insurance.
    4) Egg did not give me an illustration showing the repayments with and without insurance until after I signed for the insurance.
    Thanks,
    Nick.

Hi there, yes,use the reasons you said above, give them a ring and they will add these to your claim.
  • Thanks, I'ved e-mailed them asking for a reply confirming the points have been added to my complaint. I'll give them a call if I don't hear back in the next couple of days.

  • Hi
I had an Egg card between 2005 and 2007, then took out a loan to clear the card, and that was paid off in 2010.
I have no idea of the card/loan account numbers or if I even paid PPI.
Any tips on what I should do most welcome.

    Cheers

Hi Rothers and welcome on board.

Firstly try and find your CC/loan numbers, maybe from your bank statements (usually a long number next to your DD). Then I would simply call their customer relations dept on 08007834393, give them the numbers and ask if PPI was applied to them. In my experience they have been very friendly and helpful.
If you can't find the CC/loan numbers, try calling anyway with your personal details (DOB, address where loan/CC taken, bank details, etc.) and even then they may be able to help.

    Good luck!

  • Just spoke to Egg on the phone. They are upholding my complaint but are working their way through all the complaints in date order so it may be a while until I get the money back.
