Worth getting windscreen cover?

I have never, ever been asked to declare claims on glass cover and I suspect no one else has either.
a few years ago I changed insurance company and declared no claims to the new insurance company and enclosed my last NCB (5 years) letter. They wrote back to me asking why I had omitted a claim that was printed on my last insurance letter. I replied that I did not believe a windscreen claim constituted a "claim" but they corrected me and said it was. I do not know if it affected my premium but I have "been asked to declare claims on glass cover"!0 -
I just had my windscreen repaired by Admiral last week. They said it does not class as a claim and will not affect my future premiums. I asked before I went ahead as I would have paid for it myself otherwise.0

Just to add we don't run a fleet, they are all on individual insurance policies.
The fact that you have 6 cars multiplies the risk of a breakage by a factor of 6, too difficult for you?
Using that example in comparison to the normal scenario of a 1 car per individual owner is not valid.
Please try to be polite, unless that's unclear?I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
I think windscreen cover is worth it, as sometimes a cheap repair isn't an option, depending where the stone chip is on the screen. Replacement windscreens can cost many hundreds, depending on vehicle. It was £250 for an old Skoda I use to have!0

Guys - beware LV insurance don't explicitly tell you on their policy documents that should you make a windscreen claim - they will raise your premium . In a written statement they do say it does not affect your No claims - but cold comfort if they do not arm you upfront to make the choice as to shop around for a no claim replacement or to claim! Check your policies.
