Tescos own brand corned beef used to be £1.43 for a tin. It staretd going up several months ago, to the point where I stopped buying it.

I was in Tescos this week and noticed that they had it on Special Offer - I can't remember the exact price but I did note that the price was for 2 tins and it brought the price per tin back to almost £1.43 each.

I think that might have been the Red Lion variety (some money goes to UK Forces charities), usual price £2.99 per tin.

From tomorrow Tesco have an offer on most of their tinned corned beef - 3 for price of 2.

Cheapest is Tesco value 340gm works out at 99p per tin (for 3 tins), Ye Olde Oak is £1.33 per tin (3 tins).

    Fill yer boots, ladies. :rotfl:

I love a corned beef & beetroot sandwich myself.

I'm thankful I don't like corned beef! But I love tuna though!

I buy Sainsbury's Basics tinne tuna for 55p - and it's sourced responsibly as all of Sainsbury's tuna and you get a decent amount. I have bought the branded tuna in the sales, but rarely these days.

I remember a few years ago you could get a tin of corned beef for about 30p. Don't bother with the tins now as they all cost a fortune and the sliced stuff is better quality.

What do you think goes into products like the supermarket own brand Value sausages?, and from a couple of years ago, there was this "The 2p sausage: But what's in the bargain banger?"
When you see the extremely low wholesale prices charges for some burgers, you know that there is no way that they contain anything but crap.

My neighbour used to say "Sausages are full of eye holes, ear holes and @rse holes." :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Think about it!

What's the quality of the "value" corned beef like? A lot of their "value" stuff is c**p... but some is OK(ish)

Sorry, I can't help with that as I wouldn't buy the value stuff.

I'd probably go with Ye Olde Oak for the 34p per tin price difference.

Asda SmartPrice is OK. Up until last week it was £1.39. Now it's over £1.70! Five years ago I was paying 39p.
    Can I help?
