Hi All,
I used to be a regular of this thread many moons ago but then DD came along and I lost my way in all things moneysaving.
Can I join in for this month? I get paid on the 15th of each month so for me that's the start. I try to budget £350 a month with weekly shops but this month just finishing was a 5 week month for me.
Just a note we are a family of 4, two adults, one 6 year old and one 2year old who eats more than the 6 year old!

I'm a bit late appear this month - I've been on holiday
After a redundancy scare earlier this week, I am relieved to say I still have a job, but it looks like another 10% pay cut will be along next month so I need to keep a handle on my grocery spending and would like to aim for £120 for August. It's quite low but the freezer is very full and I've only spend £30 so far with 3 weekly shops to go, so I'm optimistic!0 -
Did the usual Mr Morri$$onsthis aft - drove me crackers asper usual but spent £24.89, wanted to buy some chicken for midweek mexican wraps but it was just too expensive - looked at the turkey and then remembered DD2 hates the stuff so came away without either
Bought two packs of decent looking cooking bacon at 75p each instead of "normal"bacon - in date till 2nd sept so time to think of how to use it - plenty of bacon sarnies and maybe a quiche or two (but again kids hate quiche only me that loves it:o)
Am out tonight for a colleagues leaving do - happy hour at local pizza place so should be ok as long as we dont do daft thing of "splitting the bill equal" - gets me mad that:mad:

Hi all, well school hol's and grandkids over for weekend have resulted in me "having" to go shopping again, another £36 has bit the dust so away to amend my total, think i was a tad optimistic this month xMoving towards a life that is more relaxed and kinder to the environment (embracing my inner hippy:D) .:j0

Have just spoken to mum and she, along with my sister, is going to visit me from Thursday to Saturday next week.
So, I may try to stretch what I have in until Weds and do a shop then instead to stock up for the visitors. I may need to pick up some fruit and bread before then but can't think of much else that's desperately needed.0 -
Hi all
Spent another £17 today on wine, dog food and choc
After volenteering to help MIL at her church table top sale am still in shock over the invasion of the 'cauliflower heads' (my DD,s term for ladies of a certain age with white tightly permed hair, meant in jest only). But wow they know how to negotiate a bargin LOL
I am now exausted and intend to spend the evening doing not-alot - hm chilli in oven will serve with nachoes and a large glass of wine by way of reward
Take care all xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
A couple of spends in the Co*op on the way home tonight (been away all day and just couldn't face cooking - I'm letting it "go" though as I am on my hols!).
£2.90 on 2 pizzas (BOGOF) so 1 tonight and 1 in the freezer to enjoy another night and 2 x 1.25 litre bottles pop for £2.
Was going to go to Mr A on the way home but too tired so will go tomorrow - need to stock up on their pop, 4 x 2 litre bottles for £1.50 is a big difference!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I was in the mood for baking today so had to pop to the Co Op for a few things but made a lovely coffee cake and a gluten-free banana loaf & some g/f biscuits.
Aargh - I just looked at my signature after I posted & realised that I haven't added on my spends from yesterday! Boo, better go & dig them out!Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0 -
I also did some baking today, made choc chip cupcakes, they didn't turn out as nice as the last batch I made though, I had got the recipe from somewhere online, but couldn't find it so sort of guessed
anyway am pretty sure the kids will eat them so should fill a hole now and again over the weekend.
small spend today 69p on some salad and £1 on 2 tubs of hundreds and thousands, ready to decorate biscuits at the weekend (co-op have a 2 for £1 deal on them at the moment) we had ds's hm version of a kfc today, chicken burgers, dippers and poppers from al$di with chips and dips etc. much cheaper than a kfc, I know not particularly healthy but we do usually have that sort of thing on a Friday...
Will be going backto Al$di again tomorrow for my main shop, there is an Asda nearby too and am tempted to go there too, but I know that will mean a much higher spend...(is it only me though that misses shopping in the big stores! stupid I know)Starting with Avon C6 target sales £150.000
