Sent the mother-in-law some flowers through valueflora for christmas but they arrived dead - highly embarrassing, very disappointing and to top it off after emailing Valueflora to complain about the state of the flowers they now want photographic evidence!
Do I really have to phone my mother-in-law (not the most understanding person at the best of times) and ask her to root around her bin to fish out the dead flowers and take a photo of them to send me so I can claim some money back??????0 -
Thanks for all your help and merry christmas to you all!0

Ok guys, thanks for the replies about posting images, will get to it ASAP. heres the story so far, as it seems other people are having similar problems.
My response to the latest email below was that i would prefer a refund as I had arranged for more flowers to be delivered (from a different company) to my mum in time for xmas. We will see!
Hello,
Thank you for your email.
I am very sorry about that. When dealing with fresh flowers there can be rare occasions when the flowers do not open or survive transit as well as expected. We are grateful for you letting us know and we will pass your comments onto the grower.
At Valueflora.com we offer a full quality guarantee on every order that we send - and therefore I will gladly send your order out again, free of charge.
Would a delivery asap be convenient?
Kindest Regards
Amy

Dear Amy,
Thank you for your prompt response to my concerns that my mothers christmas flowers were actually deceased upon arrival.
I had no idea that the Alstoemeria displayed this sort of behaviour.
However i regret to inform you that despite following the instructions to the letter I have had my worst fears confirmed. The few remaining leaves have fallen off and the stems are now slowly but surely doubling over. Not being a keen horticulturist myself I have had many 'seasoned hands' declare them well and truly dead.
Reading your terms and conditions carefully, i have as you would request enclosed some photographs for your inspection. i am sure you will agree that they are dead, and in fact are not fit for the purpose that they were bought for.
Under your Terms and conditions, and indeed the Uk sales of goods act, i would therefore respectfully request that you refund my money in full.
many thanks again for your assistance and if I can be of any help further, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely

This just reminded me of the Monty Python "parrot Sketch". Good luck.0

you're right they don't look aliveSuicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.0 -
We also bought the Christmas flowers for my husband's gran who is in her 80's. When I e-mailed them to complain about the condition I was told I had to provide photographic evidence. We really don't want to stress his Gran out with this, so we just won't buy from them again.0
