£26k is still way to high, why would someone work on an average wage if the taxpayer will give them enough to live comfortably without working?
And how is it fair for a hard working family not to able to afford to live in the same area? Benefit claimants in some cases are living more comfortable lives than those working.
Unfortunately that will mean some people have to move but it is the right thing to do.
That’s good lets make all move north it will make it much nicer down here in the South East.0 -
What unfortunate issue?0

What would you do to address this unfortunate issue?
I've no idea but you must also take into account that even if you work you are entitled to some of these benefits. For example someone with 5 kids and claiming about £800 a month LHA would get about £34k a year. But if they earned £15k a year they would get about £27k in benefits and £12k in wages.0 -
What sort of idiot on £15k decides to have 5 children?
Needs to be discouraged.0 -

I'm not sure what they are moaning about TBH, they can still et 25k a year for doing nothing, that is probably double what you would earn in a full time minimum wage job.0

The one that gets an upgrade from a two bed flat to a four bed house and extra benefits.........
You would need to go from 1 to 5 children to get a 4 bed house from a 2 bed, in Manchester that would give you about £3k extra which you would have to pay out on rent. Whereas the extra child tax credit would give you £10k and that doesn’t include the extra child benefit.0 -

I think you are normally better off working but if its enough is debatable.0
