well ive managed to get £100 of my bill in april next year (coz of bieng on benefits and my average spend being over 10% of my income) and they have agreed to lower my monthly dd from £40 and £48 to £30 for each!!! and thats with the same supplier!!!

ok i admit i went over the hour but i blame it on the call centre staff taking their lunch early!! haha

Just make sure those direct debits are enough to cover what you are using, you may have fallen for the "Stay with us and we will lower your direct debits" trick whereby you will find yourself in debt in a years time, so that £100 will be meaningless.

Just be careful, the agents at those call centres word stuff ver cleverly, you should ask for your Kwh usage and tap it into a comparison site, would have taken a lot less than 40 minutes...

yeah i got all my figures for the last 12 months and my usages etc and used the comparison sites then i rang up the top 3 and my current provider. i worked out what i used and how much i would need to pay then with the £100 rebate i was able to lower the DD payments in line with it and now my house is even more efficient with the added cavity wall insulation and the added bonus of the smart meter i should (99% certain) end up in credit by the time winter rolls around.

for the start of last year when the figures were taken from too i had faulty heating meaning it was burning more than it should have making my bills mroe expensive too.

    gillypkk,

With an attitude like yours, I'm not surprised that you went bankrupt.

excuse me?!?! what exactly do you mean by that?!?

i did not go bankrupt through running up my own debts as a matter of fact. my ex-husband put things like the sofa, our car, his new computer etc.... in my name then when i left him he wiped the bank account and left me homeless and penniless with a 2 year old and 6 week old. i could not afford HIS debts!!!

not that its any of your business!!!

    seriously! take your attitude elsewhere.

I hate to bear bad news, but expect the supplier round shortly with a pair of PPMs, and wave goodbye to any deal you arranged.

Did you inform them you are a registered bankrupt?
Do you really expect to continue to get credit as a recently declared bankrupt?

It's a pity that you weren't more explicit in the first place, isn't it? Had I gone bankrupt, I would have kept my mouth shut. Had my spouse been the cause of a bankruptcy, I would have kept my mouth shut.
