Just a follow up that might make you laugh.
You may remember I went and bought an Indian takeaway as sainsburys were giving me £15 for the worm fish.
Well guess who spent yesterday in the bathroom, and has had to take the day off work today as I'm still feeling nauseous. Dodgy Raita I'm guessing, as hubs and DS are fine, and that was the only thing I ate differently to them.
Should have stuck with the fish I guess!!!0 -
Oh well - I at least have a reason not to eat Cod other than it being endangered. I probably don't want to know if any other fish has a similar problem.
Oh yes, nearly forgot.
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!_pale_
I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...
I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!0 -
I remember eating loganberries off the bush when I was a kid. My mum always inspected them carefully for maggots and always found them. My dad always said "what the eye don't see, the heart don't grieve" and just popped them in his mouth without checking. I decided my dad had the right idea and just use to eat them without looking. I once did see a maggot on one by accident (guess I should have closed my eyes) but I ate it anyway and it tasted just the same.0

I took some cod out of the freezer yesterday and there were 3 brownish small thin worm type things in it (dead obviously!).
At first I thought they must be insides of the fish, but now I'm not sure. Does anyone know what thery were??
Many thanks0 -
They are parasitic worms which are very common in cod apparently.0

Haven't eaten fish since the last time I read a thread on this subject - had to throw a fish-pie away that day.0
