Hey jakes mum. A holiday for just the 2 of you sounds like a very good idea. However is this the cheapest one you can find?? I'm sure if you looked there would be cheaper ones somewhere. Have you ever thought about camping? (No I'm not keen either but DH and DD love it so I grit my teeth and complain all week ;) ) I've got some cheap camping tokens here somewhere I think I could pass on to you if you wanted.

Otherwise why not check travelo*ge website and see what offers they've got on. Some rooms are quite cheap and a week away is a week away after all. It'll give you both time to talk and work things out and just spend some time together.

Hiya Starnac, thank you :) Camping is a complete no no for me, im disabled and have M.E so things like having to walk to a block numerous times for the loo/shower etc would be impossible and I dont think DH wants to be pushing me over there in a wheelchair everytime I need to go :rotfl:

Im looking at abroad as thats where he wants to go, and I am better in foreign heat than UK heat (dont ask me what the difference is but according to the Occupational therapist there IS a difference and I will cope better abroad)

Its costing a bit more than a normal persons holiday as I have to add in things like a taxi transfer rather than the bus and we have to go slap bang in the middle of the school holidays as thats when DS is away to my sisters for 2 weeks.

I shall keep trawling the internet (fed up to the back teeth with blinking holiday sites and trip advisor!)

Hi Jake's mum. I didn't realise there were other issues to consider. I know of a few places that offer holidays suitable for those with disabilities but only in this country. Sorry I can't be of any more help

Thanks a lot starnac, much appreciated, you too Footie, you're both very kind...though he didn't give me any hugs! Never mind cause I'd only have been after his Sealed Pot!! :rotfl:

    Footie
, well done with your words about our Potters Paradise!

Hi sparky, you take care of yourself!!!

Well we're back from the hospital now and have good news. A lovely Dr thoroughly examined the arm, neck and shoulder and said it needs manipulation under anaesthetic. It'll take about an hour and they'll cut something or other and remove any scarred tissue to let the shoulder go free, at the same time they'll give it another steroid injection right into the joint itself. DH asked how long it might be and was told roughly around 4 to 6 weeks, but we were asked if I was able to go in if they had a cancellation and the answer to that could only be yes, yes, yes! Apparently if I don't have anything done to it, it'll always be like it. He looked at the hand and remarked on how very stiff and restricted it was, and hopes that it might be better after the operation, which bears out what my Physio had said so here's hoping! Oh, I'm so very, very hopeful that things might just be starting to get right again. I'm almost getting excited!!!

So, another little SPC baby boy to look ahead to phoenix_dragon. I hope the thyroid doesn't present too much of a problem, though I know only too well what troubles it can bring, mine's very erratic. All the best phoenix.

Good for you both, Mal and Flat Eric!

Great news on your 5p roadkill, robedha! :j

So sorry to hear about your hubby, jakes-mum, I can sympathise as I suffered badly in the 90's, but light was at the end of the tunnel. My DH was brilliant, so just always 'be there' for him and ready to listen any time. I'm with the others in going for a far cheaper holiday or the cost itself won't help your DH! I love camping, but know it's no good for you. How about B&B with evening meal abroad. The scene and food are most important so whatever you do, enjoy it. Use some or all of your pot, but don't put it on CC, please!

Good for you nikki keep at it.

Sleep well everyone and have a lovely day tomorrow.

    Sue x

    Morning all!
Well £10.95 went in my bottle last night-proudly put in by DD. So pleased to think its mounting up and it's certainly helped me to stick to my meal plan and question everything I'm spending. Apart from work parking-I've been redeployed to another hospital and, until my parking permit arrives, its costing me £11 a day!! As i was getting so stressed about it I've decided to take the cash to cover it from my ISA. Shocking when parking to cover my 16 hours of work is costing me more than a whole weeks groceries!!!!

Bit gutted, Ive been very dedicated to getting NSD's at the moment so have no change to put into the pot. Also I think I have found all the money that was lying around the house / streets.
