£103.46 here sue...

not bad considering i was dipping in throughout the year.. worked out what i took out. (tax for the car/new parts for car etc) it would of been close to £400 i would of thought.

i'll join again for next year :~)

Excellent news, kirsty!!! You did really well, much to be proud of. :T I can understand you declaring early given the circumstances. All the best with the operation, I've had a sinus one, DH too. Get well soon and happy saving for next year!


HI Sue Just seen your message thanks,,, been ill with another sinus infctn and lymph node, but bloods all clear so op is on for mon,,,am very very anxious esp about the recovery afterwards and whether I will be ok for crimbo! Assuming I dont get an infctn just how painful is it and how long for ,,actually feeling sick today worrying :cool:
Still got £150 saved in my tin,,I just cant bbring myself to empty it am holding on to it,,every time OH mentions cash I am suddenly v quiet,,its mine and its all I got atm,,childish i know but comforting!

You'll be fine, Kirsty, put it this way, I've had 2 (ex-smoker!) and went back for the 2nd! It's more frightening, like most things, with the thinking about it beforehand, but I promise that you'll be ok for Christmas. Even if you get an infection they're soon on the ball and treating it. Always keep in mind "what's the worse that can happen?" I find looking at things like that helps me no end. Don't worry Kirsty, this time next week you'll be much, much better. Just don't blow your nose, truly! I'm a PM away, if you need to chat. :kisses3:

Not sure what you mean about the cash, Kirsty, but if there are problems at home and you need the security - leave it where it is and build on it.

I go quiet when oh is looking for cash for chips/pub/lottery/kids bus fare /anything! I want him to withdraw cash from our bank instead of using my tin,,now its open its kinda being used for allsorts but I keep replacing it! Am self emplyed so if dont work dont get paid so i always feel better there is cash in my purse/tin to fall back on really really am excited already about next years sealed pot challenge!! We are hoping for a holiday one involving mouse ears and florida!!! I will be working and saving very hard to do this,
Also last few yrs been depressed in jan usually,,last dec/jan really was not, was focused on saving,and surveys,ebay actually anything could think off to be excited and postive about, it worked:T thanks again for sinus surgery support

THANKS to SUE and SPARKY (or should that be SPARKY and SUE?! - controversial...ha ha) for the wonderful thread and I can't wait to see the grand total in a week or so when everyone has declared!

I am declaring my Grand Total (don't you love how that is important enough to be capitalized!) as
£225.84. no. 977

That isn't as high as my target but it actually is over that when I count my other savings. I have also saved £234 in £2 though that isn't included at all in the above amount, and I have also be putiing between £20 and £55 a week direct into my ISA from my wages this year which I'm also not including in the total, so overall I am extremely pleased! :D

Thanks :beer: so much to each and every person on this thread for the 'banter' and amounts posted over the year, you all make this an enjoyable and friendly thread to be a part of, and oh so useful too.

So also a BIG :hello: welcome to the hundreds of newbies that are joining for next year - I am sure every one of you will find potting so satisfactory and just think of next years grand total with all you lot adding bits too, be it £10 or £1,000's.
