  • Just added two pound coins from clearing out my purse at the end of the week :)
    £2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January

  • I have been looking for this thread as seen the sealed pot mentioned in peoples sig. I want to join please. I have actually been throwing my change in a pot that counts what you put in - picked up in a sale for £2 a few years ago but usually emptied as fast as anything is put in but since October I have put £49.82 in - I put in all coins but hubby will only part with his copper for it, so really its a joint effort, just more effort on my part :) For me this is a bigger as never managed to save and keep anything longer than a two weeks before and I am 55, but now I have my oldest sons wedding in March 2014 to attend, wouldn't be so expensive except is he now lives in Melbourne so somehow have to save about £5k for flights, hotel, travelling round ( likely to be our ownly visit and we hope to stay 4 - 6 weeks to really see the place) so lots of savings to do. I hope to fill the jar then take it to the bank and open a savings account especially for it - now that really would be something......a dream at moment but one if I really try with all the help here I know I can do.
Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

It'll be a pleasure to have you with us, prepareathome. A warm welcome aboard and have fun saving. :D You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 3 of page 1. Please read through the 1st post as it'll let you know exactly how the challenge works. NB. Please pop your number on your sig, it helps so very much. NB. Pots are emptied on 1st December 2011, thank you.

Best wishes with saving for the first time, prepareathome, and what an occasion to motivate you! That would truly be a momentous holiday as well as your Son's wedding. It CAN certainly be done so save ALL you can, it'll be a joy to watch it all come to fruition. :D

kerri_dfw, could you kindly pop your No on your siggy by the SPC part? We need the numbers on everyones for the 1st. Thanks a lot.

Not sure if I've said anything about you and Christmas shopping, sparky, but hardly surprising you don't have the time to do any as yet; still you'll be doing well for cash for it when you're able! ;)

Very good indeed, Bublin! Everyone's getting roadkill today..except me! :(

You're up and away, kiss_me_now, excellent. :grinheart

Evening all, I hope you've all had a wonderful Saturday and that Sunday will be a good day too. Keep saving and keep safe.

I'm getting ridiculously addicted to this site!!! I've joined the site to save some money (haven't we all!)

We're getting married next June, and we're not exactly flush with cash!!!

Anyway, that's off topic... I know you're all getting ready to open your pots... but could I possibly join? When would be best for me to join?
