Welcome back Sue
Hope you are feeling loads better.
Just updated my debt free diary if anyone is interested feel free to read. My 'Love to shop' christmas vouchers are on the way to me, so that is the kids prezzies all sorted and no nightmare bills after christmas. I think this is a great way to save. I do it through Park Christmas Savings online. I just do the love to shop vouchers mind you, if you look at the hampers/toys/gifts etc they are HUGELY OVERPRICED.
It has helped us budget for the last 3 years for christmas and is great that I can just go shopping and not worry about paying for it!!!!
Just thought I would share this with my fellow potters, if it just helps 1 of you save for christmas then that is excellent:grouphug:Debt Free Date 1st August 2016 Sealed Pot Challenge #140 -
Hi girls and very many thanks to each of you. It's wonderful to be back again and has seemed ages since I was last here.
I'm not allowed to take things easy, Kerry, my Physio is a slave-driver , but I suppose she has to be to get results.
Hi Observer, the speech to text is quite amazing and I'd highly recommend it, especially to folk who do a lot of typing or, like me, have hand problems due to falls or disabilities. I bought mine (version 11) around May/June while it was on offer and it cost £53 inc P&P. I don't use the headset as DH already a microphone which fitted in the laptop perfectly. You can get the mics independently cheap enough too and preferable to the headsets, to my mind. Definitely worthwhile!
Pop Nuance Dragon into google and see the array of links there, reviews too! There are 3 different ones to choose from, mine was the cheapest - of course but it's perfect. I'd certainly give it 5/5 as you simply speak and it appears almost by magic. Yes, now and again I get problems with a name, but there are ways to get over it, by asking it to "spell that" and a list comes down of words likened to what I've said; if the one I'm looking for isn't there then all I do is spell the word out and voila it appears atthe top and I simply "ok" it!BTW, I had a courtesy call last week and could only prasie it!
WOW jakes-mum, you have something great to look ahead to then!:j Hubby & I both did the same and it really pays off further down the line when you need it, and if you don't, it's worth saving some or a little at least. A shame about the purse, but you'll soon be able to afford a new one!
Nearly missed you e4rub, glad I didn't. That's excellent news about the money you've saved, ready for the kiddies presents! It certainly takes a load of our minds to have such things covered, very well done! I'll have a look at it as son as I've got this on. You're doing SO very well, keep hard at it and you'll be grinning from ear to ear before you know it.
Forgot all about my cash saved recently whilst here yesterday! £14.93 is safe in the pot and will already have introduced itself to the other playmates
Possibly see you later, take care girls.

Glad you're back Sue.
A few pennies have been popped in to both pots lately but not much I think as its getting closer to payday people are being less careless with their small change. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Nice to see you back Sue. Mind you I've been MIA for the last few months as money got very tight and I stoppped my monthly £20 contributions. Anyway for my birthday I got £40 cash as a present after I bought myself a pair of jeans for £30. After a lot of deliberating about it I finally put the £40 into the sealed pot. So pleased I did. Had a quick count up and am now at £180. £40 down on the £20 a month contribution but not too worried about this as I will catch back up
Another revelation too over the last month. Instead of my original plan of saving this money up for some Dubarry boots I have come to my senses about spending £240 on a pair of boots. I've decided instead to spend some of this on a new pair of much needed walking boots in the spring and the rest can go towards either paying for the holiday or some spending money.
Thank goodness for the thread helping me think things through more about why I'm saving and what for. Even though I've not been posting I've been thinking and at last something has stuck!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
