morning all.
LL sorry to hear you had a rough morning, but we all have our moments and at least you can also see the positives there.
Well, my hair is back to all brown and I'm delighted. I was letting the blue fade as much as possible before dying over it and it looked terrible. Some was faded to purple, some to pale blue, some to a greeny blue and some to the bleach. I realised it was just getting me down and was never going to fade evenly so I put a nice chestnut brown semi-permanent from Superdrug over the top, and my hair it pretty much close to my natural colour. I've another box in the house as I'm sure it'll fade a little, then hopefully I can lay off the dying for a while.carpe diem

Morning all,
Carmen - I'm sure a stone is definately doable. I'd love to lose a stone this month so think I need to get myself in gear! I love maxi dresses but struggle to find any that fit me - am only 5ft2 and end up tripping over them lol
Poles - cheese night sounds lovely, definately one of the things I don't think I could ever give up! Hope your band was good.
Lolly - I've been really surprised myself, I thought there must be some catch when people on here kept going on about how much they'd made. That is with me being very conversative as I've just been doing one bookie at once and had a very small start up float. I can see how people could make much more. LL I'm definately nowhere near a math's whizz but have a lovely calculator thing that works everything out for meAnyway if anyone is trying it feel free to poke me with any questions.
LL - glad your oven got sorted and are having a better daySee I have a lot of vague ideas in my head about things I could 'sell' and since we are in a very touristy city I did think about drawings, sketches etc of local landmarks and whether I could move that into things like calendars or postcards. I think I need a friend like yours as I'm definately not very good at selling myself and don't think I would be able to go into shops and ask them if they wanted to buy my stuff
Don't think I really know anyone up here that would be very good at it either - maybe a few back where I used to live but a bit of a trek for them to come up here to run round after me :rotfl:Glad your jewellery is selling well - think we may need some piccies!
Maman - I like both dresses, the colours on the M&S ones are gorgeous but the ASOS one is a more classic style (imo of course!) so depends on what you feel your style is and if you've been given any guidelines by the bride if you're in the wedding party. Ooh just seen the ASOS one in the teal - that's lovely. OH does get down a lot, he's had a lot of mental health problems in the past that we've never really got much help for and although he's a lot better then he was in many ways he still tends to go up and down a lot. Have pretty much given up on any medical help now though so we just muddle through.
Anyway meal last night was nice - had a jacket pot and a bit of OH's garlic bread so not the healthiest but could have been worse! Had a few drinks when we got home and OH seemed a lot better. It's his gran's birthday today so think we are going to pop over tonight and take her a card and a bit of something. Was going to take her out but apparently she's up at the hospital most of the day for tests and results and various bits so she doesn't think she'll feel up to it - not a fun way to spend your birthday really! Has seemed a very long week this week, guess because had a few days off last week - yay for weekend :j Hope everyone's having a nice day x0 -

I can't wear maxi dresses either. I'm also 5ft2. I get fed up with cutting off a fiver's worth of fabric just so something can fit me.
Cheese will be my downfall.....The band were good. I do like a bit of blues.
I like the ASOS dress in teal, although it's not as weddingy as the M&S one, I think I would get more wear out of it. Ever the MSEr me!

Hello all!
What a fantastic thread! I have been reading through the posts from the beginning & am now starting to pamper myself a bit more & feel so much better for it. It's like a really inspiring virtual sisterhood!

Good evening ladies
Hello Nali and a very warm welcome to you. Glad you are enjoying the thread and starting to pamper yourself.
Bratz - Glad that you've got your hair colour issues sorted out now. I think the temporary colour is a good idea - it a good gentle way of covering up mistakes etc
My sister once went through a series of hair colouring experiments - with rather unfortunate results. She got so desperate she hacked it all off with the scissors herself. Her poor hair was so many colours she looked like a tortoiseshell cat. She was only about 16 at the time. My mum was furious and was giving my poor little sis hell.
Sis responded by being belligerent and rebellious "It's my hair I'll do what I want".
I had to try and explain to Mum that underneath the bravado my sister was really upset, frightened and angry with herself. The last thing she needed was someone nagging at her and telling her off for being stupid.
All she wanted was a bit of understanding and reassurance that she could cover it up with a temporary colour and that her hair wasn't about to fall out. Unfortunately neither of my parents had any patience or insights into the psyches of teenage daughters.:(
"Who Lives in a House Like This"
Said in your best snooty sneering Lloyd Grossman voice.
I'm afraid I do. Half started projects lying around - laundry & ironing piling up, not one single tidy room in the entire house.
So I set to and cleaned it all up right?
Nah, I spent the day in the garden, pottering about and enjoying the sunshine.:D Much more relaxing and topping up my Vit D levels. De-stressing and ensuring future bone health - multi tasking;)
Actually I did do some proper gardening. DS2 cut the hedges and I attacked some of the overgrown shrubs and began the autumn clear up.
The weather seems good again for tomorrow and then changing on Sunday, so it's the garden again tomorrow and a proper house clean on Sunday.
Maman - I like both dresses although I think the ASOS one is perhaps the most "formal". Will the venue be warm enough or will you need a shrug or pashmina. Do you know if there is a particular theme or colour scheme. Will you be wearing a hat or perhaps a fascinator. Sorry didnt mean to give you a cross examination - just tossing a few ideas into the mix.:rotfl:
Anyway off to bed soon - hope you all a have a lovely weekend.
Enjoy any good weather that comes your way. There may not be many more really warm days so make the most of them. Unless of course we have a nice Indian Summer. Fingers crossed.
Next week - schools are back and it's back to normal. So ladies the party's over - time to get back to work on those fab routines.
G'night all x0 -

Maman - The M&S dress is absolutely beautiful!
I love both of the pinky colours (particularly the paler one), I don't think the black colour really suits it though. I do like the ASOS one, but wonder if it may be too understated for a wedding, iykwim.
PP - The calculator sounds fab, where do you get it from, or is it an online one?
Well I've been keeping up with some things - avoiding the cleansing wipes, mascara, perfume, etc, but haven't done much pampering. I really need to make more of an effort but I've been feeling so tired lately that I just can't be bothered!
I've got a new exercise challenge to get on with though, so hoping that should help a little. Having DS1 back at school next week should also help! Roll on wednesday!!!0
