I'm very excited by this thread! Had a quick look at the old one & I'm liking the look of the Aspirin Face Mask already! Will have a better look tomorrow!

I don't need any new clothes! Got loads hence the mess I got myself into & why I'm on this site in the first place! But I do need to lose half a stone & tone up abit so that I can wear them again!

For example put on a lovely Boden dress (2 years old but still lovely!) for work yesterday and the lovely new boyfriend who never ever says anything negative about my appearence said ' Are you wearing a cardigan with that?' Sigh! Needless to say I took it off again!:(

Please count me in on this, its the kick up the bum I need. I lost 3 stone on WW last year, but fell off the wagon in February, and am now scared of getting back on the scales! xx

polly i am not a girly girl either ... more used to being up to my knees in mud etc ... but i do enjoy treatments ( i am soooo worth it lol) i have not got a clue on anything female though .. i mean alot of the time i dont even brush my hair and makeup well that is a rarity for me ... maybe we can learn together ?

Pony tails are my best friend as I usually rush out of the door without a second thought and forget to brush mine too :o Now, I own a fair bit of make-up, as the thought always kind of appeals to me, but none of it has ever seen my face as those 10/15 minutes in the morning are far too precious and I love my bed too much. I can do really good liquid eye liner, either a nice and fine delicate line or a really funky sixties thick black slick, but then I chicken out of going out of the house like it as I feel like mutton dressed as lamb. :rotfl:

May as well admit now that I get my hair cut to shoulder length then leave it until it's so long I can't deal with it anymore and chop it off again - normally takes around two years. It was so bad one year I gave OH the kitchen scissors and said "cut here and then straight round"!

It is about time I grew up and sorted myself out a bit though, I used to look really nice if I made the effort, then I had three children under 4 and no time to do it! They're 9/11/13 now - maybe I can reclaim some of the time back!

I have started keeping my nails nice. I'm addicted to Essie's 'Jackie Oh My' at the moment and have been alternating that with 'Sand of a Beach' but that's pink and I only leave that on for a day or two before I change my mind. I buy them from eBay from a nice lady in California as they work out half the price of buying over here.

You really wanted to know all that, didn't you! Sorry for rambling again :o

hey lovely to see a new thread started ... can i join in as well ?

today i actually went onto the treadmill for a short while ... it wasnt long but it was good to get back to it ... i miss excercising so much so i deff plan on getting on top of that ... not sure how i am quite going to manage it with my shift work but i need to do it, so if anyone has any suggestions i would be more than grateful

i also ate the second part of the vegetarian curry with brown rice that was made in the slow cooker yesterday .. i plan on having some home made bread with marmalade when i get into work but other than that it is going to be coffee and soy milk for me for the rest of the day... i have started taking evening primrose oil as well as this month before my period i got really bad chocolate cravings and i ate so much ... the annoying thing is i dont even like chocolate ( i know i know ... but it's true) so i am hoping evening primrose oil will help ... can anyone thing of anything else that might help with cravings etc ?

sorry to add so much for a first post but i wanted to give you a bit of an idea about where i am etc .. please feel free to ask any questions

Oooh Elan would you be able to give me the recipe for the curry. I've never used the slow cooker for anything veggie.

Polly are we identical twins ? Pony tails and hair clasps love em .... I have also started on my nails this is a whole new experience for me .... I'm using Orly bonder rubberised undercoat with china glaze colours and sece vitae ( I think its spelled) top coat ... I love the topcoat ... My nails usually flake chip within hours ... So far I have had my current colour on for 4 days and no chips / flakes.... I'm also using a Leighton Denny nail file which is good as well ... But I'm looking forward to trying to use some of the recipes from here for my face and hair etc ... Have more to write but I am on my phone so won't frustrate myself anymore ....

Well - all I can say is WOW.

I turn my back for a few hours and what do I find, already a nice little supportive club all ready up and running. How fab is that?

Anyway - a nice big hello and a very warm welcome to everyone, newbies, "old" (sorry) lurkers, and long time posters and friends.

Thanks Mrs W for referring everyone to the old thread.

I am going to be very cheeky here Mrs W and just quote what you said on the last thread. I thought it was so apt and just summed up the whole ethos of Frump to Fab in a nutshell.

Mrs W said she felt better for having made "Making Feeling Better A Priortiy". I really liked that - because it really explains what this thread is all about.

I am sorry for this but my computer is really playing up and I keep losing posts - so I'm going to have to split them into smaller segments for a while until I can get it sorted.

    Back in a mo ..........

    Anyway

Just a couple of things before we get down to business.

Firstly there are so many posts and you all raise so many interesting points, we are going to have plenty to talk about.

Secondly to those who are fearful that they are not "girly" - that really isn't an issue - I am not girly either, don't do frills and flounces, didn't even play with dolls much as a child.

For me taking care of myself and being feminine isn't the same thing as being "girly" - nothing wrong with being girly per se - its just not me.

Rather - and sorry to be preachy - not my style - I just think that we women need to be strong, fit and healthy to cope with the strains and stresses of modern life.

Yes, we are judged by our appearances - we live in a "lookist" society - how we look does matter whether we like it or not.

I also think if we can tackle the things we can control, our appearance, our bodies etc then our general sense of well being will also improve at the same time.

New Age Hippy Drivel? Maybe. But it works for me.

Anyway enough about me (for now:rotfl:)

    Lets get started.
