I actually did ok on the "look in the mirror" task. Nose was a little bit shiny but in general I looked ok. My clothes are a bit "blah" at the moment but I'm working on losing weight so I don't want to buy anything new right now. Also what with being made redundent I don't want to buy new stuff and then find they're not suitable for whatever new job I get (positive thinking bout the new job bit!)
So this evening so far i did a very quick leg body brush, have showered with exfoliating gloves, washed and conditioned hair, done a full leg epilation on both legs, shaved underarms, removed old nail strengthner, rubbed tend skin on both legs and moisturised face. It actually looks like a lot written down but really didn't take all that long!0 -
Well I wore perfume. The mirror thing wasn't pretty as i haf been neglecting myself. So I washed and exfoliated my face.
Cheap beauty treatment:
Toothpaste dabbed on spots. Dries them out, great if like me you hae the bad tendency to try to replace sleep with coffee and junk food.£1600 overdraft

Your dress looks fab! I had a look at the website in the link and it's great! I liked the look of those sexy corsets on there! I thought maybe I could just abandon this now and buy one of those!:rotfl:
Lessons Learnt
I so agree with you when you say that looking better makes you feel better & then you look better & then you feel better & on it goes! It also works the other way & that's not a good cycle to be in!
So on with todays task, I do wear perfume everyday and before my Light Bulb Moment was wearing Calvin Klein everyday! The new me bought some perfume from M&S in the January Sales, I wear that everyday for work & save the good stuff for evenings out, the w/e etc!
The banana face mask sounded really good too but I only had 1 banana left in the fruit bowl today and I'm afraid to say I ate it!i wish my bank account could keep up with my Rockstar Lifestle! :cool:0 -
Sad to say that I didn't do any exercise today but I am going to do a Spinning class tomorrow at 8.15AM!!! I loath spinning but A) I get to do it in works time
it burns loads of calories! So I just bite the bullet!
On the pamper front I've painted my finger nails as they've not been done since last w/e! My toes nails however are bright pink and are painted always! Winter/Summer it doesn't matter, infact they look very odd to me for the 5 mins inbetween one lot coming off & the next lot going on! Like looking at a stranger's feet!i wish my bank account could keep up with my Rockstar Lifestle! :cool:0 -
Hi
Can I join in please?
GwenxThough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
Hi all on mobile again ( last night at work thankfully) I have to admit I do tend to wear perfume often ...so task one was easy for me ... But I will wear it everyday I am not at work ( can't wear it to work sometimes due to medical needs of people I sometimes work with) ... So today is a Dolce & Gabanna red day ( I keep my good stuff for nights out etc)
I did the standing in front of the mirror and I want to thank you for suggesting it ... I saw a very sad woman ... I don't think of myself as sad at all but in front of me staring back at me was a sad women .... I need to get the outside women to reflect the inside person I am .... Don't get me wrong I have a lot going on in my life just now which would give me the perfect excuse to feel depressed etc ... but i have too many wonderful things that ensure that depression isnt an option ( just now anyway) but physically it has taken its toll ... i never noticed this till today so thankyou .... now to change it
i had hoped to do some excercise today but i am so shattererd just now tomorrow however is a new day ...
so my treat to myself today is going to be a facial ... i am going to cleanse tone and moisturise my face i am going to massage my face and decolatage area and i am going to meditate ... am loving this new putting me first
ohhh and seche vite (sp) is the dogs whatevers ... i love it lol0 -
Please can I join? Am approaching 48, and am over a stone heavier than I was when pregnant with either of my sons
....in fact, I haven't weighed myself for over 3 weeks since we emptied the bathroom for its refurb & I don't want to find the scales to do it again!
I usually wear perfume everyday - DH is very good about checking which is nearly empty near Valentines day, Christmas & my birthday, so I have a bit of a choice - today was Armani She, yesterday was Calvin Klein Truth. Am a bit stuck as the bathroom is still out of action, so no major beauty / body treats going on for a few more days
I did the mirror thing and wasn't very impressed.... however, next time I promise I will dust the mirror AND wear my glasses
I don't bother wearing make-up every day as I find it a bit of a faff, and usually am rushing to get out of the house so as to beat the traffic & not be late for work. I do smarten myself up at weekends though, especially if going out for lunch with my best mates!0 -
Hi Everyone
Welcome to the new posters. Pleased to "meet" you.
Lose 1/2 a stone in 2 seconds
Bet that got your attention:rotfl:
Tomorrows (todays) assignment - posting it now for all the early birds.
You'll need a full length mirror for this one.
OK you know the drill - go and take a look - stand normally and take a good long look.
What's your posture like?
Rounded back, shoulders up to your ears, sticky out tummy etc etc
Now stand straight and tall, head up, shoulders back and down, tummy in, tail (bottom) tucked in.
How do you look now - you should look taller and slimmer.
So today's task is all about trying to improve your posture. Be patient it's not going to happen by magic - you're going to have put some practice in. However, try and think about how you stand, sit, get in and of cars etc, how your bend and lift objects.
Good posture isn't just about looking better although of course you will - it's also about improving your core strength, stability and balance and protecting your back. (More about core strength another time).
My father was a professional soldier for nine years, standing tall and straight was literally drilled into him. Now he's 85, fit as a flea and is still as tall and straight as he was at 20, no back aches either. His military bearing is obvious and with his silver hair and twinkly blue eyes he's still a head turner.
Walking tall and straight gives you an air of grace and confidence, it makes you look strong and powerful - people take you seriously. And of course, your clothes hang better.
Try this experiment - walk down the street with a slouch - I bet you will be invisible. Now try it walking tall and proudly and I promise you will be far more noticeable. You will literally stand out in a crowd. When you enter a room people will take notice of you - in a nice way. You will have an air of authority that commands respect.
Whenever you remember - think about your posture and correct it, supermarket checkouts are a great place to remember - look around at everyone else and see how awful their posture is - it will remind you to straighten up. When you look in a shop window try to catch sight of your reflection - it will give you a jolt and remind you. When you're standing at the kitchen sink etc etc. There will be loads of opportunities in a day to practise.
A little tip - when you are standing in the checkout queue and you remember to stand straight - do a few pelvic floor exercises at the same time whilst you are waiting to be served - multi-tasking at it's best.:rotfl:
Whether your 5ft or 6ft stand tall, stand straight and proud and move gracefully.
Off to bed now. G'night all x0 -
morning everyone
Well I wear perfume everyday so day one was easy for me! I did also look into the mirror thing, and was ok. I've started wearing makeup recently, to cover my rosacea and highlight the good bits, so that was ok. Clothes weren't bad as I'd actually planned my outfit the night before and picked matching things - so this was a big reminder to do this every day. Something I really need to work on.
My posture is pretty bad at times, so yes that will be a challenge for me but one I will work on! It's true that it makes you look slimmer and more commanding, and I think it also makes you feel better as well, in terms of confidence. So I will work on thatcarpe diem
