Hi
Maman- chandelier looks lovely!
And the cardigan too! /am struggling abit with my winter woolies at min might have to invest in acouple myself before winter really sets in.
LL- sorry you've been feeling a bit down but you sound abit more cheery today, nothoing like a good walk to blow the cobwebs away.
I'm off myself in amo.
PP- I know the feeling re the house - my standards fall short as far as my mum is concerned but am afraid she's given up on me now as she didn't get anywhere.:rotfl:Good luck with the assignment am half way through mine but won't be doing much this week with kids being off.
Hi to everyone else.:hello:
Been to my counselling asessment and have to wait to hear what she recommends but she seems to think CBT may be some help, she also recommended womens aid. Can't help feeling like a fraud on this because its not what I think of as abuse although she said this is quite common. He does however tick many of the dominator characteristics box. It was hard especially as things haven't been too bad over the last couple of weeks and I have been feeling more positive. I know from past experience it won't last so my next goal is to contact WA and see if it is appropriate - it can't hurt can it?
Anyway off for that walk now before the sun goes in.:)Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

afternoon all - hugs for everyone who needs one
well for those who were asking, the burlesque night was fab! We were told to wear a vest top, shorts and tights under, plus heels. The shorts are better for moving around etc, and the vest top as it was so warm.
We all got a gift bag of a feather boa, long gloves and n!pple tassels - and we learnt a routine to do using our props. No nudity though, the tassels were pinned onto our vests.
I really enjoyed it and came out feeling like a glamorous so and so! Would love to do more of them, though with it being £25 a night it depends on finances obviously
We also had a night out for a friend's engagement dinner on Saturday and I dressed up in a new 1950s swing dress, stockings, heels and jewellery and even curled my hair so felt fab. And looked it according to the fiance but he's biased!!
Also meant to say - my Skin79 BB cream arrived on Friday and it is amazing. Best thing ever, without doubt. It's like a tinted moisturiser only better - gives great coverage, doesn't look like I'm wearing foundation and doesn't irritate my skin.carpe diem

Hi ladies, I am now back from holiday and I feel more stressed than when I went! I went with my uncle and grandparents and we stayed in a static caravan. My grandad has had throat cancer and had his voice box removed last year, so he has a permanent hole in his neck now (can't remember the official name for it!) he is almost 91. My gran is in her late seventies and has limited use of her arm after a shoulder replacement. My uncle is in his late forties and I had forgotten just how selfish he can be, having not been on holiday with him for years. We all went in his car and we were reliant on him to drive us to places while away.
He couldn't have been less bothered about taking us anywhere or doing anything! He stayed in bed until midday every day and it was a struggle to get him to go anywhere. It's a good job I took my OU work and several books or I think I would have caught the train home part way through the week out of sheer frustration/boredom. In fact I only didn't storm off home because I didn't want to upset grandparents.I just feel so angry that he wanted to go on holiday to sleep, while we were looking forward to going sightseeing/out for a meal. It wouldn't have hurt him to put his elderly parents first and do what they wanted!! Anyway, rant over, I will certainly never go on holiday with him again!
Lizzie - I would be very interested in learning about 'dominator characteristics' as I find me and my partner are having more and more arguments because I don't see why I should back down all of the time just to placate him, and he always has to have the last word and can be verbally abusive. If you don't want to discuss it over the forum, I would really appreciate it if you could PM me about it.
My first OU assignment is due in on Thursday and I am in major stress! I am just one big stress ball at the moment!
Good points so far this week - I did 45 minutes on exercise bike yesterday.
Can anyone recommend a beginners yoga or pilates DVD? I can't afford to join a class/gym and would like to have a go at this as my side feels really stiff when I first get up in the morning.
Hopefully I will be in better spirits when I return, probably will post again after OU deadline has passed! At least then the assignment will be submitted and I won't be able to go back and change it again!0 -

(Please feel free to ignore this post - I'm not saying anything constructive, just feel the need for a rant!) Had the day from eff'ing hell!
First off, I woke up to DS2 screaming (not crying, SCREAMING!) at 6.30am, thought he was just being mardy as usual so gave him a bottle and got him back to sleep, it was only when it got light that I noticed that he had a bump under his eye... it has gotten worse over the day and is now a full blown black eye
I went downstairs to find DS1's toys scattered all over the floor (was his birthday and party yesterday), instead of cleaning them up, he decided to open EVERY SINGLE THING! ... and then mix them up so we didn't know what came with what. He finally cleared them up after 3 hours of my nagging!
We went to Clarks to get a pair of the Urchin snow boots, thinking he was a size 13 (they only sell them in whole sizes). They didn't have any so I asked them to measure his feet and we would order them. It came up at 13.5 on one foot and almost 1 on the other. I then asked her to check that his school shoes still fit - he had worn them especially... they didn't(I only bought them 7 weeks ago, for almost £40 ). She insisted that there would be too much room in a 1 so we bought some in a 13.5 - meaning that he'll need some more by xmas.
Got them home and noticed that his old shoes were actually a 13.5, and were even slightly bigger than the new ones!!! She told us that there was hardly any room in his shoes, and that the new ones were perfect - I now feel well and truly conned as she has either lied to get me to part with my money, or hasn't got a clue what she is doing! Will be taking them back tomorrow for a refund (wasting yet more time, and money on parking), then going down to Matlock for some Start-Rite shoes. I am never shopping in Clarks again and and am complaining to head office as it's absolutely disgusting that they are telling people that they need new shoes when they clearly don't... especially at £40 a time!
To top it off, DS1 left a cup of blackcurrant squash on the side table, so of course DS2 found it and poured it all over my WHITE fabric sofa!!! I then had to take the sofa apart to wash the covers (for the second time this week ) and am now sat crossed legged on my hard laminate floor - my feet and ankles are hurting already.
Here's to a better day tomorrow.
Sorry for boring you all, although I am feeling a bit better now I've written it all down. Will now catch up with the thread and may actually start chatting to you all rather than just ranting at you
.

Right, I'm back and in a (slightly!) better mood
. Just a quick post as I'm going for a bath to try and relax, and also because my ankles can't handle this floor for much longer!
Lizzie -It's really good to hear that you are taking positive steps such as contacting WA. :T
How long do you have to wait to hear what type of therapy is recommended?
Bratz - The burlesque night sounds like so much fun!Good to hear that your Skin79 BB cream works well - I've heard a lot of good things about BB creams lately so may have to invest as my skin isn't looking too great at the moment.
Callisto - Sorry to hear about the holiday, how awful of your uncle. Have you got a Wii? As the Wii Fit/Wii Fit Plus is apparently excellent for yoga. As you do the moves on the balance board it senses your movement and balance, so can give you feedback and tips on improving your techniques based on your performance.
Hello to everyone else :hello: Will be back to chat some more tomorrow.0 -
Evening ladies :hello:

lolly101 - hope you're ok now sweetie x It does feel better to have a good rant, we all need to at times and it's actually theraputic(((HUGS))) to you xx
Hope everyone is feeling good x
Will catch up soon x

Callisto - what a shame about your holiday - hope you have recovered now. Well done on sticking it out for your Grandparent's sakes. I'm sure they appreciated you being there for them.
Well been very lazy today - managed a nice walk, ate healthy meals and feel nicely rested. I made another banana cake for the freezer rather than throw soft fruit away and blitzed Oh's bedroom. That's about it.
Tomorrow will get cracking.
Had a long natter with a friend tonight - her husband (62) terminally ill with throat cancer.
Five years ago we were having the time of our lives. Their UK home is in Devon and we live in Derbyshire. We would visit each other for weekends. Like us they also had a property in Spain and we would spend lots of time together in Spain.
Happy as larks and not a care in the world between us. Now look at us. J is dying and OH - well my OH "died" three years ago.
Ladies to those of you who are hale and hearty and whose families are fit and well - heed my words.
Try not to worry too much about money, debts etc, try not to stress over jobs and college work, don't fret too much about a couple of excess stones of weight.
In the grand scheme of things these matters are trifles.
Enjoy what you have, spend time with your loved ones.
Forgive me for preaching but trust me on this - you never know what's round the corner - what the Gods have in store for you.
Live full and happy lives, live them now
G'night all, sleep well x0 -
hi
Callisto- will pm the checklist to you when I get the chance.:)
Lolly- sorry you had a bad day. I 'd like to say your home will get tidier as they get older but I think my kids are still as messy, still spil things and could be more careful.
I should hear in about a fortnight about which type of help they will offer me.
LL - so sorry about your friends hubby. I second the live live now sentiment - even if I don't always manage to follow it.
