Hello Ladies
Bit of a set back today. WW WI and I've gained 1.5lbs - talk about one step forward and two back. Never mind, I just need to keep trying.
However, with just 11 weigh-ins to Christmas I'm going to have to really pull my socks up if I'm going to shift that stone:o.
Dropped my two new (to me) CS coats into the dry cleaners today, going to cost me £19 which is almost double what I paid for the coats:rotfl: Still - £30 in total for two wool coats is still pretty good.
Has anyone tried those sachet thingies (I think they're called Dr Okter or something like that) that you use in the tumble dryer for dry-cleaning clothes. If so, how did you get on. I keep looking at them but am undecided - I'm concerned that the heat from the tumble dryer would shrink woollen things.
My skin is starting to feel it's winter dryness already and I'm looking rather tired and stressed. Will do the banana face mask in a bit. Also bought some "Simple" products - on offer at Sainsbury's. Still trying to avoid paying an arm and a leg for Dermalogica products:rotfl:
Banana Face Mask
Mash about 1/4 to 1/3 banana,
1 teasp honey
Maybe a drop of milk
Very soothing and packed with nutrients and vitamins for tired, stressed skin
Haven't exercised in an age - so just off to try 2kms on bike and some yoga.
Tonights treatment - face mask as above and manicure.
Hope you are all having a good day.0 -
"molly, I've been thinking loads about your predicament. I really think you should find the money if public funding is really impossible. Many people would spend that figure on a car and you admit you'd spend it on your dogs:eek: I'm not sure if the refusal is anything to do with where you live. Might it be worth contacting your MP, local paper?"
Thank you for thinking about me x
I have decided that I will spend the money on the operation - Obviously I have to get it together but will work on that. It was my son who asked me if one of beloved dogs (who are like my children) were ill would i be prevaricating? My son knows me too well as obviously the answer would be NO.I must not fear. Tru - yay on the exercise, I so need to get back into it this week - have been ridiculously lazy latelyHope your stands go well on Thursday - remind me again what you're selling, I'm sure you have said but memory like a sieve this days!
Then her hubby (they run the shop together) said he'd hang a display rack on the wall so it'll be the first thing customers see when they walk through the door - and "is that all you brought with you? Bring loads in". I was walking around all day like this :j  :j  :rotfl:
And, I missed you birthday. Sorry bout that, hope you had a good day and here's some cake :bdaycake:
Molly, good decision
Not much to report, just that I'm doing my bit in support of National Chocolate Week :whistle:Bulletproof0 -
Now I have a new predicament! I'm starting work experience on Tuesday and I need smart and comfy black shoes and some trousers. The Job Centre will pay for them if I go to matalan...I'm guessing they'd do plus size work trousers? I haven't been on the website yet.
Still need to find shoes for the dress too.
Was a good day exercise wise for me today, walked the half mile to the job centre then half a mile back into town. Walked round town for an hour or so trying to look for some shoes to go with the dress then got the bus home and got off a stop early. Hi Willow - try Matalan - look at the Rogers & Rogers stuff, or look on Asda online too.
What sort of shoes do you fancy & what size are you? I'm sorry but I can't remember what your dress is likebut I agree re the blue opaque tights

Excellent news Tru. I have stopped doing anything for National Chocolate week and am starting my very own National Oreo cookie week instead
I knew it was a mistake to buy a box from Costco
I have however scrubbed my face, painted my nails on hands and feet
Keep on fabbing everyone, just do what you can xxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

If the job centre are paying for the stuff they say it can only be from matalan. I think they have some sort of arrangement or something.
Now I would love these shoes to go with my dress. They're too high for me, I have balance problems so it's either 1 inch heels or flats. The only flats I've seen are ballet pumps and I have major problems keeping them on my feet. Where can I find some of those shoes but with a smaller heel?Savings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.0 -

Look at Asda - they've got quite a few of those trendy lace-up flat shoes in my local store. Will they go with your dress?0 -
Hi Cleggie  I'm quite new to the thread as well.
I'm glad you are listening to your son Molly, I agree that you need to think of yourself now and start considering ways of raising the money, but still go ahead with appealing.
Bitsy -@ National Oreo week.
Willow - I can't really wear heels either and have trouble finding smart flat shoes for work or going out. I've had no luck so far with finding what shoes I am going to wear when I am a bridesmaid for my sister. The other bridesmaids will probably be in skyscraper heels and I'll have the tiniest kitten heels ever and will still want to take them off after about half an hour as they'll feel so uncomfortable!
I've found Matalan to be good for work wear, plenty of different styles of work trousers/skirts and blouses. Their plain tops are really good value as well, about £4 each and loads of different colours. I bought a couple of plain tops last year - they are still in nice condition and haven't stretched at all (which I find with Primark tops.)
I lost 1lb this week.I'm pleased with that, 12lbs to goal! Felt annoyed earlier though as I was just in the middle of cooking spaghetti bolognaise (used hardly any oil and turkey mince to make it lower fat) and then OH came home with a bag of chips. Asked why he didn't let me know and he didn't have any phone credit... grr... so I ate chips I didn't want as I didn't want to waste them and will have my lovely meal tomorrow instead!

I feel overwhelmed with all your helpful and supportive posts. You have really helped me cope this week and changed my way of thinking about this dire situation. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
