Hey Everyone,
I am feeling a bit better today, thanks. Not too much, but I'm hoping that my extra efforts will help. I managed '6-a-day' yesterday, and have had 3 today already. I also got about 8 hours sleep last night, and it was only interrupted twice.
I have nothing else to declare though, no treatments or anything, hopefully I'll get back into things soon.
Tru - Great news that the pain has gone!!!! :j
Molly - How awful.(((hugs))) I don't know how many avenues you have gone down in search of funding, but try not to give up hope.
Keep searching, follow up LL's lead, and if all else fails then it may even be possible for you to raise the money yourself, with the help of those around you. I don't know if this is something you would want to do, but I have read of many people in similar situations that have held fundraising events and things. Local papers tend to be interested in issues like this, and they would be a great help in publicising any events. Local businesses are usually willing to help out, maybe practically, or by offering goods - prizes for a raffle or something similar? It would take a lot of work, but you obviously have a lot of support from your kid's dad, and I'm sure there are plenty of other people that would be more than happy to help.
Callisto - As Lizzie has said, keep an eye on the study planner, and as long as you are on target with that then you are doing fine! The OU tell you that it is not beneficial to get too far in front of everyone else, so for someone to be starting an assignment on day 2... well that is just ridiculous!
Bratz - Good luck with getting your wardrobe sorted! It's something I need to do - I've got a couple of outfits that I'm really happy with, the rest are a bit 'meh'.
Cleggie - Welcome to the thread! :j I had a similar mindset after having DS1. It's a struggle to get out of it, but the ideas and support on this thread should be a great motivator. Keep posting
Lizzie - So sorry to hear of your loss(((hugs)))
Great news about the counselling appointment. RE the smaller plate, it does work! We have big dinner plates, smaller side plates, and plastic kiddie plates that are in between the two. I switched to the side plates, and would use the kiddie plates (to DS1's amusement!) if I had a big side salad. I fell out of the habit a couple of months ago, when my diet fell by the wayside
, but it definitely does help.
PP - Glad you had a lovely birthday weekend!!!
Right, I'm off to sort out DS1's birthday. He's having a disco so there's a lot to do! He designed his own invitations last night, they actually look pretty good! So I've got to print them out, check in with the DJ, round up my friends and family to help out on the day (:D), and start planning the food. I've also been instructed to bake him a cake this year, I've not done it for two years as we've always had a lot on, so must make an effort this year. He wants a 'cake that looks like a skateboard', so I think I'll need to browse the web for inspiration!0 -

Hi ladies.
I am forever saying "i'll bother with my appearance once i have lost a stone"...but i have decided there is no reasn i cant make the most of myself before i lose weight!
Hello Cleggie and a very warm welcome to Frump to Fab. This is exactly what we are all about . (It's also my theme for today). Well done on making a good start.
PP - Belated Happy Birthday - glad to you had a good time. Remember the old 80/20 rule. If you eat healthily and sensibly for most of the time then you can relax a little now and then. The odd takeaway/meal out/indulgence won't hurt - in fact I think it can be beneficial. Life's too short to spend it always eating "rabbit food".
Lizzie - so sorry for your loss. Hugs. Glad to hear you've got your counselling appointment sorted.
Now for today's pearls of wisdom:rotfl:0 -
Now I know we were all taught to save our nice clothes "for best". And I'm not for one moment suggesting you clean the kitchen floor wearing your nicest, prettiest dress. We're not 1950's housewives in a Doris Day movie. You know my view on this - joggies and t-shirts are perfect for lolling round the house.
But, when we are out and about, I think we deserve a bit more.
Today I had some errands to run - including a trip to the plumber's merchants.
Couldn't decide what to wear. Spotted my cute little Russian military style black velvet jacket hanging in the wardrobe and thought "Why not". A bit too dressy?? Well I toned it down with some mushroom coloured Per Una jeans (CS £5), a white t-shirt and shoes with a heel - ok so only 2".:rotfl: Styled my hair nicely, put on some slap and perfume.
If I say so myself I looked pretty good. More to the point I Felt Fab And .... I got great service and respect at the Plumber's Merchants.:D
People judge us by how we look. I looked chic and stylish - worthy of attention etc It would be interesting to see how well I would have got on if I had been dressed the way I used to be in my Bag Lady phase. I bet not as well.
So it's now Hello to the Chic and Stylish woman that I'm now finally becoming and Goodbye to the sad old frump of this time last year.:D:D
So ladies, stop hoarding all those nice clothes and saving them for best - for that special occasion/when I've lost weight/when there's a blue moon.
The blue moon is here now - get out the glad rags.
We are women of style now.
So now is the time to be your best.
Have a great day.0 -
Hello, after reading some of the past threads I am hoping some of you can help me.
You see whenever I wear anything, a pair of black jeans and a top, or a red shirt dress and black cardi, I never seem to look very well "put together" if you know what I mean.
I always look a bit of a jumble as I am unsure as what goes with what and what colours to wear together and tend to end up feeling a bit useless.
So any ideas on how to bring an outfit together? How to look more polished than furniture polish?
I am 5 ft 2, size 14-16 and mostly have black, white and red clothing, black and white for safe days and red for when I am feeling more daring.
I just want a bit of advice if possible as I thought it would magically come to me as I got older, but coming up to 33 in january I am non the wiser.
Help Please!!!:o:o:o:oDetermined to save, save, save
SEALED POT CHALLENGE NUMBER 500 :rotfl:0 -
Hello again ladies. Pod Person Happy belated Birthday
I second what LL said - don't just save your nicest clothes 'for best' - wear them for you, to make you feel your best all the time, you deserve it.
Lizzie So sorry to hear of your sad loss. Good that you have your councelling appointment.
Cleggie
SW weigh-in last night - lost 21/2lb and got Slimmer of the Week, which was a total shock, as I was convinced I'd put on rather than losing! Determined to overtake the half stone mark next week. I'm absolutely :j now and am staring to FEEL fab.
Till next time, carry on fabbing0 -
Hi everyone.
Thanks for the welcomes! I think i am going to start off slowly. I go to uni 3 days a week-tues, wed and thurs (except this week when i only go in wed and thurs), so am going to make an effort on the days i go into uni.
So, tomorrow i will get up, wash my hair, blow dry and straighten, put some make up on, jewellery etc.
Does anyone know about what make up would suit me? I have blonde hair, blue eyes. I like to play it safe, so not too bold with colour? Any ideas please?0 -
Cleggie when I got married my make up artist used a lovely denim blue but obviously less is more. Likewise I have a lovely emerald green that I like to use. There is always brown tones but I find these a bit too boring sometimes, I have also been known to wear white. I too am blonde and blue eyed
!!!!!! I am far from a "Gok" but your clothes, are they in good nick? I assume it's the shapes of the clothes that aren't working together. Have you got some nice costume jewellery to pull the outfit together? Accessories are a good way of dressing up what would otherwise be quite a plain outfit. Sorry if thats been no help to you
Did 15 mins on the rebounder this afternoon so feeling pretty goodI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Thanks Bitsy.
I reckon i will start off with the boring browns, as that was my first idea..and then work up to other colours. I have a lovely green based outfit that the emerald green would work nice with when i feel braver!0
