I was just in the middle of cooking spaghetti bolognaise (used hardly any oil and turkey mince to make it lower fat) and then OH came home with a bag of chips. Asked why he didn't let me know and he didn't have any phone credit... grr... so I ate chips I didn't want as I didn't want to waste them and will have my lovely meal tomorrow instead!

Very understandable callisto, there's something about chippy chips but your OH shouldn't just assume like that. I always make bolognese the SW way which is either to use no oil at all (mostly it's OK without in a non stick pan) or if you really need it to use that Frylight oil spray which is very low calorie.

Small update... I have lost weight! So that's why I felt thinner...coz I am :D

:T:T:T what a great motivator willow. Keep at it with the Wii, the walking and the healthy food. It's obviously starting to pay off. I was thinking about your shoes: if I were you, I'd get some black ballet pumps from Matalan. They must have some as they're everywhere at the moment. I've noticed this season that they're not completely flat any more. These would be suitable for your work experience and also to wear with your dress and coloured tights if you don't find suitable heels in time. Plus they're free!!! I've often bought work trousers in Matalan. As well as the Rogers & Rogers, they're normal ranges do lots of sizes. Take loads into the changing rooms (including some a size too big) and try them. The different shapes vary in size a lot and it's better to ignore the label and buy something flattering.

I've had my hair cut today so looking much tidier and some caramel highlights put in to balance off where the sun had bleached the ends. I bought some aspirin to try the facepack (didn't think it would work so well with paracetamol and codeine:rotfl:) so I'll do that soon. We're going to a wedding tomorrow. It started with an evening invitation but now we're going to church ceremony too. I tried my new purple dress on tonight and it looks great so I'll wear that. I've got a purple velvet coat that matches perfectly too. I'll look a million dollars in my Tesco dress and Primark (last year £10) coat! DH made very lovely remarks about how well I'm looking. He's such a star as he never criticised me for being overweight but he's genuinely delighted with my new shape. As am I:D

For the 'big' wedding in November, I'm no further to making a decision. I enjoyed browsing in House of Fraser yesterday but didn't see anything that appealed. I did see some of the Mary Portas range but wasn't impressed. That sort of 'safari' type shirt
I_153899679_00_20110815?fmt=jpg&layer=0&size=150,200&wid=150&hei=200&layer=1&src=I_153899679_00_20110815&size=150,200&qlt=65&wid=150&hei=200&op_usm=1,1,0,0 is really hideous IMO and £105:eek: I can see that shop just dying a death.

Well done on the running sparkles. I'm going to get back to walking soon. And that's not an idle threat, I mean it!

    to all!

Maman: I'm not sure if you read my earlier post about ballet pumps :p I have real trouble keeping them on my feet.

For work experience I'll probably get these, my school shoes were very similar so they should be comfy. They're not very fab I know...

If these are low enough I might get them to go with my dress. I'm running out of time and I don't think I'm gonna have time to go shoe shopping so they'll do.

Willow - Congratulations on your weight loss. :) Don't worry about your work shoes not being fab, as long as they are smart they will do for now! The fab shoes are waiting out there somewhere for us...

Maman - Thanks for the frylight recommendation, I will get some next time I go shopping.

    Sparkles
    - Hope the running continues to go well! I keep meaning to start again, but I'm worried about aggravating my old injury. I just need to try it and take it slowly and stop making excuses - I have all of the cold weather gear I need, so being cold doesn't cut it as an excuse either!

I bought this from Matalan today as my winter treat! Really pleased with it.

I wish everyone a lovely week as I am off to Devon tomorrow, and probably won't be able to get online. I am taking this to be a good thing as I will have plenty of time for walking, sightseeing, reading, listening to music and studying! First assignment due in less than two weeks, eeep...

Small update... I have lost weight! I lost 6lb since 22nd September coz that's the last time I went on the Wii. This means I'm under 18 stone! :D I even dug out the normal scales just to check. So that's why I felt thinner...coz I am :D

:j:D:):j:D:) Keep up the good work.

Well done on the weightloss Willow - keep at my dear and you'll continue to see results. The wedges look great for work. I love wedges and might try a pair on myself as I really need a pair of black work shoes

Nice cardi too Callistro, nice to see you on here too! Looks snuggly for winter and fabulously stylish.

And as for the fabulous maman who is putting me to shame with all her fabulous progress and style - you keep at girl!

I'm up and about to get ready for a run then have quite a long recovery period watching the rugby as a reward!

    Good morning everyone

Beautiful sunny day here so hopefully will get out and about in a bit.

Have just done a pile of SS paperwork so feeling all smug and virtuous now that's done and dusted - at least until the next batch.:rotfl:

What with two care agencies and 3 PAs - it's like running a medium sized business - not counting running OH's diary for hospital appts, treatments etc.

Didn't sleep too well - so off to get a much needed shot of caffeine and a few minutes to myself whilst OH watches the rugby.

Maman - agree with you on the Mary Portas stuff - not impressed at all. I had a good luck on Channel 4's website after the programme - even watched the web chat. What's that old saying "Pride Commeth Before a Fall". Think you're spot on about her shop dying a death.

Enjoy the wedding - beautiful day for it - how lovely your DH is so pleased with his "new" wife.

I agree with Sparkles - the "Fab Maman".

:T:T:T You are the first official graduate of "Fab School".:rotfl::rotfl:

Willow, I think they will be fine with your dress if they are a comfy height for you.

After my run this morning which was rather hard work and fabulous at the same time and some gardening this afternoon, I'm going to fab my feet up a bit by treating them to a nice soak and scrub and moisturise. Then fab my fingernails up with a nice file, buff, shine and a lot of handcream and cuticle oil.

Then if I remember I'll exfoiliate my face, use up the last of a face mask and slather on a lot of moisturiser and oil overnight.

Tomorrow I will treat my hair to a hair treatment, a hair mask and shampoo and condition then after all tomorrows work is done, paint my finger nails

Thats this weekends fabulous skin and haircare treatments organised!

Well I'm sorted for work shoes and dress shoes! These are to go with my dress and these are for work. The work shoes look horrid but are really soft so they should be comfy. The dress ones are soooo comfy! I'm usually a 6 but because they're a wide fit I ended up with 5 but they're still a little loose...

Also got 3 pairs of 100 denier black tights, have nothing apart from one dress to wear with them though! Will have to go shopping again...
