Maman I guess I understand the concept of slimming world, but it says in the book I can eat as much rice, pasta etc as I want? eek is that true? I am worried about my portion sizes of all this free food. Any tips on how you kept your motivation going would be truly fantastic.
It is true that you can eat as much as you like of pasta, rice etc but (if doing Extra Easy cos it's slightly different on Green plan) you must match that with the right amount of superfree foods (fruit and veg). So if you had a plateful of pasta you must have at least a third of a plate of sauce made with passata or tinned tomatoes (to put it very simply) to go with it. Just seeing the weight coming off is the best motivation !!!!!! but I'll be back with other positives very soon:D
I'm visiting very quickly tonight and have no more than scan read today's posts. Today is DH's birthday so have been busy. It's also been my first pain-free day in a week so I'm delighted.
:TMrsW on your review, just what you needed!! (and deserved;))
We've been out for lunch today and tea was cake and champagne. It's been great!!! Will count calories tomorrow:o0 -
MrsWolfe, that's great news on the job and payrise front, congrats!!!
LL - that's also great news on finding a good place for your husband and that your FIL is supportive and so on.
podperson, I don't know if you're interested but there's a website called ravelry.com - it's like facebook for knitters. They have loads of easy patterns right up to hard ones, and anything I couldn't do I googled a video of - so I've only learnt to knit about 3 months ago would you believe. I had to look up videos for casting on, knitting, purling, casting off, you name it but the sense of achievement so far is immense. If you do join up, you can add me as a friend, I'm bratzy on there.carpe diem

Morning all,
Mrs W - that is fantastic about work - so great that they are starting to appreciate all the work you do for them, and nice compliments on the increased confidence :T
Floss - glad you had a nice holiday, sounds like you're looking great on itGod I can't remember the last time I had a tan - I know people always say I look healthier with one but I tend to just streak with the fake tans - even had a few with the gradual tanner, I must just be a bit rubbish with them :rotfl:
LL - That is such fantastic news :j:j:j I don't have enough little jumpy guys to express it!! Must be such a weight off to have finally found somewhere suitable. Can just try to relax now and enjoy the next few months with OH knowing there's something in place for him when needed.
Bratz - I will try and have a look at the site. It is something I really fancy taking up again, I'm told it's very relaxing though this seems to imply I won't have issues with losing stitches, twisting things up etc :rotfl:I suppose it's slightly putting me off at the moment that I would have to learn from scratch again and trying to fit that in with all my other stuff. I shall have a look though
Am feeling a little more fabwise today! Had a nice long shower last night, conditioned my hair (though was really tired and ended up not drying it properly) actually went through the drawers and chose something nice to wear rather then grabbing the first clean thing as I have the last few mornings. We even have a bit of sunshine! Is my film group tonight, was umming and ahhing about going as it looks like a small group tonight and I haven't got round to rewatching the film (saw it ages ago but not sure how much I remember!) but that's the attitude I'm trying to get out of so WILL go and will be good!

A quick on from me. Not feeling fabulous, still struggling with little gremlins, skin still looking rubbish but slathering sudocreme on every night, eating is up and down, no exercise, still feeling tired.
BUT LL your news about OH has cheered me right up and its time for me to stop wallowing. So sun is out, going to local CS for a mooch and ski DD to the park. Have found a blog which is not heavily focused on fashion but she does like clothes and I think I need to rediscover that albeit on a small budget.
Well done to Tru and Mrs W.

Bitsy, please could you PM me the link to that? Thank you!
LL - your FIL's comment brought tears to my eyes, he has recognised all the support you put in & effort you have gone to to make your OH's life easier. :A0 -
Hello Ladies
On Tuesday I was in the depths of despair. After yesterday's fruitful ending to the Care Home Quest I now feel like I've finally turned a corner.
That 2 ton weight has gone from my shoulders - also a 1.5lb weight loss at WW today:D. All the ladies there said that I looked so much better, really well and glowing.
It's true - I do feel like I've been reborn. All that stress and anxiety is just slipping away and for the first time in weeks - no chest pains, no gnawing stomach cramps, even the back ache seems a bit easier. It just shows doesn't it just how bad prolonged stress is for us.
Even the Weather Gods are kind today.
OH & Carer went to a couple of garden centres - bought back some winter pansies and violas, broccoli and cauliflower plants, so tomorrow will get busy.
I went to ASDA to do a mini stock up. For the first time in my life I actually stuck to the list and only spent £27. Am I finally learning sense.:rotfl:
Popped into the library and now have a nice stash of books - some beauty/style/health and some money management. All very MSE.
When I've read them I will share any new found pearls of wisdom with you all;)
Bitsy - sorry to hear the gremlins are still on your shoulder. Big hugs. Just keep going - one foot in front of the other.:rotfl:
PP - You sound busy and happy. Glad you managed your art class and the film group sounds fun. What were you supposed to watch this week.
I love films - I must have over 200 DVD's - I keep threatening to have a cull, but can't bear to part with them.:rotfl: I'm looking to add to my "Christmas Movie" stash. We start watching Christmassy films from Dec 1st. It's just one of those little family rituals.
So, now that my world is looking a little rosier and I feel a bit more upbeat I am going to get back on track - nearly half way to our deadline so time to up the ante if I'm going to lose that stone.:rotfl: Mind you, I think this Frump to Fab still has legs and could probably run and run.
Anyway, over the next few days a major paperwork blitz (SS of course) some more decluttering, some pampering and some exercise.
BTW - I too have started wearing heels now and again, wore them today. Only a chunky 1" heel but it's a start.
So for today
Exercise - 2kms bike, 10 mins yoga, 50 tummy crunches
Treatment - A jolly good slathering
Bye for now x0 -

 just called by for a quick read.
LL that is the most fantastic news about the nursing home. I am so delighted for you. Well done:T, your persisitence has paid off. Great news from WW too.
I lost 1lb this week which takes me just below target. I'm pleased as what with meals out today and yesterday and our little holiday next week I'm definitely going to put some on.
This isn't much of a photo but I got this dress today. It's purple jersey, fully lined with classy looking top stitching and it was £22 in Tesco!! Now that my back's feeling better (:j) I must spend a bit of time trying on this and the asos dress and twirling about a bit to decide what I'm keeping. Neither may be for the wedding but at £22 I could wear it for anything, business meetings, lunch, dinner, theatre (can you tell I'm convincing myself;)). I was only in town running an errand for DD1 and had a look in the Tesco Home place. I'll start looking seriously when I get back from Spain.

Hello, I know this a little late but I was wondering if I could join this thread?
I've been feeling more and more sorry for myself as the weeks have gone by recently, not really taking care with my clothes or make up because I've gotton so overweight but not really trying to lose it because I feel so frumpy - it's been a bit of a viscious circle!!
Anyway, to cut a long story short - I stumbled across this thread and just reading the last few pages have inspired me to paint my nails!!
I'll keep reading with interest.
