I have been guilty of eating for a football team since being pregnant, but I didn't gain weight this rapidly, so I'll talk to the doctor about it tonight.

I really feel for you re back pain - not been to work for two weeks with it. Oh Lord, please grant us new backs!

    Hi all,

Just been trying to catch up on all you busy people :) Weekend away was overall really nice - though slightly spoilt by one incident, went to visit an old male friend as he has been having a hard time lately (dad is suffering from cancer) we ended up having two drinks together and he became extremely inappropriate :( Was quite upset tbh as have known him over 10 years and he's also good friends with OH - he did apologise afterwards but feel like it's ruined the friendship now as OH is furious with him and I don't feel I can look at him the same way again, makes me very sad :(

Anyway, am trying not to focus on it and rest of the weekend was lovely, really nice to catch up with family and friends - and was totally worth going down a day early for my mum's birthday as she was so shocked :D Wasn't too bad with the eating while away but was knackered last night when I got home and very little in the cupboards so ended up giving in and getting takeaway :o Could have done with a nice quiet day at home to come round but back to work today and have my first portrait class tonight so will be dashing when I get home as well. Hope it goes ok!
  • I hope you dont mind me popping by, I am new to the site and have to say this thread is wonderful.

I am a stay at home Mum, my little boy has autism and in the last two years started going to a special school which he seems to really enjoy.

I could do with a bit of fabness in my life. My life revolves around my son as he can be very hard work and we have no friends or family who help or give us a break, things can get really tough.

So I am on a mission to try and do some things for myself now I have some time when he is at school but I am unsure where to start.

I always have my make up (war paint) on and try to dress nice but I need to lose at least three stone but i am so tired of being up in the night with my little boy that other than getting the housework done, i am struggling to motivate myself to do anything else.

So any tips/guidance would be really appreciated

    xx:p

Pod person - sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident with old friend. If it was out of character do you think it was perhaps just a combination of booze and stress about his dad which led him to making a fool of himself??

Bratz - I did LOL at the Sunshine yellow toe nails. I really like the look but everyone kept telling me it looked horrible, as though I had a fungal infection :rotfl:

Condition of my skin on face is diabolical. Am having a major breakout :( I think it's hormonal, last week the old <ahem> rack shall we say was really tender and I suspect ruddy hormones are now playing havoc with my skin :( not helped with poor sleep. Again. Pah is all I can say. I might look a frump but I still feel a bloomin' mess.

ETA welcome !!!!!!, my lad has ASD although high functioning but I hear you on the sleeping side. He doesn't go off to sleep until after 9.30pm (he's 6 in a couple of weeks) and needs one of us to sit upstairs with him to support him going off to sleep. As you can imagine couple time for me and my H can be at times non existent :( is he an early waker or is it he wakes several times in the night? As for getting motivated....baby steps really. Is it possible for a couple of nights a week for you to have an early night to try and take the edge off the tiredness? I don't do much exercise, no gym or anything but is it possible for you to go for a brisk walk everyday and get some exercise in that way?

Hi to everyone :wave:it takes me ages to catch up after the weekend :(

Kitten update: he (she?) has not been left out at night since I had a word. It's out all day though and is always hiding under the wheels of some car or other.

maman: I too am on amitriptyline for cluster headaches and i think they are fab. I went from having 4 headaches a week to 4 a month. Don't be put off that they are usually used as an anti-depressant - they can be used for lots of things. The drowsy feeling only lasts for about a week after you first start taking them IIRC so do persevere.

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone :)

  • Hello Ladies!

Sorry I have been AWOL recently, a bit drama, drama, drama here and I've honestly not had the chance to come on here properly for AGES! Lots of family stuff going on which I won't bore you with but has completely and utterly drained me...I'll hold my hands up and admit I am a shadow of my usual self....:(

Hopefully things are settling down now and life can return to its normal semi-chaotic state so will try and catch up on posts and report back as soon as poss.

I have a long way to go to get back into the Fab routine...but I know you ladies will help drag me back into gear!

Hope you are all doing well!

Thanks for the advice polesalot. I'm feeling a few twinges this afternoon (but nothing like as bad as yesterday) so I'll take some in a moment to give me a comfortable evening.

    Enjoy your pedicure willow:D

A quick update on the wedding invitation situation: As well as the evening invitation for my nephew I've had an invite to my friends's hen party today. The plan is that we go to a posh hotel for afternoon tea then get changed and go to a go kart place afterwards:eek: The ASOS dress will be ideal for both occasions so I'm definitely keeping it. Plus like LL said, there'll be Christmas things I can use it for.

Welcome !!!!!!, I think you do well to get warpaint on every day. I'm a Slimming World convert, having lost 3stone+ in 10 months. Would that appeal to you?

How embarassing for you podperson, hopefully it'll all blow over. He must be mortified. I'm so glad your mum was pleased with her surprise. I had visions of her being out!!! Good luck with your class.

Sorry to hear about your skin bitsy, what a drag. Hopefully you'll feel brighter later in the week.

    Hello Everyone

Just a quickie - very busy day, very "bity" - not achieved much and feeling dead on my feet.

Maman - glad the back pain is easing off a little - lots of socialising coming up, Great stuff.

Mrs W - glad you're back, don't worry we'll have you back on track in no time.

Welcome !!!!!! - stick around you'll be fine, loads of tips and advice on here. Take it slowly and gently - you've got an awful lot on your plate with your little one. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Remember it's a good 14 weeks till Christmas. 1 lb per week and you'll shed one stone by then. You'll notice a real difference and feel much better. In the meantime a little bit of pampering when you can - you do very well with make up each day as it is.

To all you other lovely peeps, "Happy Monday" - keep going - it'll be worth it.

Went to see my little Sis this morning. As you can imagine she's not feeling too hot today, but she loved her pamper package.:rotfl: Thought that would bring a :) to her face.

Went to the physio for my elbow support - it fell off after 30 minutes - mmmmm - we'll see.

Spent quite some time ringing around the care homes I'd shortlisted - am going for a preliminary visit to the most promising tomorrow.

Trying to find somewhere that ticks all the boxes and fits the budget is no easy task. The downside to this one is it's a good 20 mile round trip.

Never mind what really matters is that it's suitable for OH and he will be happy there. Apparently there are more younger residents in this one, so hopefully he'll fit in well.

Had good heart to hearts with both my sis and DS2 (well as much as you can with a 25 year old male:rotfl:). They are both very understanding and supportive of my decision to arrange for permanent care for OH. I haven't had chance to talk it through with DS1.

He has always been rather in denial about the seriousness of his father's condition and has found it difficult to talk about things. A bit head in the sand, bless him.

However, now he's back nearer home, seeing more of his dad and has seen for himself the day to day difficulties, he's beginning to come to terms with things.

It must be very hard for the boys to see their dad so weak and vulnerable. They both hero worshipped him and DS1 & OH shared a real passion for sports. Both quite the "All Action Hero" types.

DS2 is more like me - arty and a bit dreamy, totally disinterested in sport and of course, he's been back home for a couple of years now, so has seen first hand how fragile his father is.

Anyway - tonight will paint my nails. I love painted toe nails - they always makes feel more glamourous.;)

Off to cook dinner, been a bit naughty today, cake with sis and a kit-kat this afternoon. S*d it, there's more to life than rabbit food. :rotfl:

    Bye for now x
