Just a quickie, to send you a big hug Willow

Also to let you know that there are many of us on here who know exactly how you feel. Many of us have been there.

I'm sure the others will have lots of tips and advice for you.

I don't know what you are doing to bring your weight down - but I know from personal experience that joining a slimming club really does help.

There are various support threads on here too.

It's just over 14 weeks to Christmas - take it slowly and steadily - in that time you could manage 1 stone. Maybe not getting to your goal weight but 1 stone would make a huge difference to how you feel.

1 lb per week is easy and do-able.

Must dash now - got a zillion things to do - keep your chin up Pet, and resolve to make a few changes.

No crash diets, no silly detoxes, just healthy eating and if you can, maybe start a bit of exercise. Walking is easy and free, a bit of yoga to help you relax and tone up.

    You can do it.

Thank you :) I walked round town quite a lot yesterday, half a mile up the road to the job centre then up two flights of stairs then after the appointment I went back the other way and walked round for an hour. When I got home I hoovered all the rooms upstairs and cleaned the bathroom (involved a lot of stretching over the bath to wipe all the tiles) then I did 10 minutes on the step thing in Wii Fit Plus and a couple of other challenges on there. Tea wasn't too unhealthy, sausages and mash but I only had 2 sausages and less mash than usual and I also made sure we all had half of our plates filled with veg. Tonight I'm cooking my own version of fish pie but I'm having my fish just baked on its own. Going into town today so that means even more walking, also got to clean the living room and kitchen which should keep me busy.

  • I started watching that Claire Richards Slave to Food, found the whole thing rather depressing really. It's about time we women stopped valuing our worth by our dress size. There was a representative from Closer magazine who I could have just given a real good slap to :o It continues next week so will tune in again but she definately has a toxic relationship with food poor thing.

I am soley concentrating on being mindful about eating. Will worry about the exercise side of things when I have the eating sorted. Plus still not sleeping great due to combination of small persons and bl00dy cat so I am finding it just an added pressure on time that I don't need.

Sending you a hug Willow xxx

Tru - hope you're OK xxx

    Hi all,

Willow - hun, we have all been there but at the end of the day weight is just a number. There are skinny minnies who are miserable and much larger people who are happy, confident and look amazing. This may come across as a little hypocritical as I am trying to lose weight but for me it's more about the fact that I know I'm not very healthy at the moment and about feeling more confident in myself. Sounds like you're doing great today - for me it's really the exercise that makes it just drop off!

LL - your day out sounds fun and I love your descriptions of the seasons, think you definately have an inner poet :)

Lolly - glad DS is liking school and yay on the pampering! Will drop you a pm for the link

    Maman - hope the back's a little better x

Bitsy, Tru - I think most of us seem to be a little demotivated at the moment, I don't know if it's the weather, time of year or what :( Think Bitsy has a great idea about doing things in short bursts - and you never know could feel inspired to just carry on after 5mins. Also try and think about the positive things you have achieved - make a list, look at it, think about how awesome you are, now go do stuff! :D

Sky - I got some vitamin C and zinc tablets from asda on the way home, thought about the link and got the dissolving ones - got home and tried one, they are so weird! Like they're fizzing up on your tongue, then I made OH have one as well, he was going, 'eww I don't like this, can't you just chew them?' I said I had no idea, so he tried it - it basically exploded into foam, he looked like he had rabies or something :rotfl:Was killing myself laughing but don't think he will be taking them again lol!

Managed to swing finishing work early today so will be going straight from here to get the train and go see my mum. She's not expecting me until tomorrow but it's her birthday today so hopefully will be a nice surprise for her :) Signed up for my portrait class in the end, thought stuff it, I'll end up regretting it if I don't and I need to get out of the mentality of just being too lazy to do things I actually do want to do. Starts on Monday so am a little nervous and will probably be knackered as home late Sunday and straight back to work Monday day. Probably won't be on until Monday now so hope everyone has a great weekend x

LL - I too like the change of the seasons, especially love it when we're all snug indoors and there's something wholesome and hearty in the oven wafting round the house. I like the way you change your decor to suit the seasons, what a great idea. My living room is creams and reds anyway so I'll be bang on season soon!

The soap factory sounds great. I hope your sister is OK x

Maman - hope your back feels better soon.

Willow - definitely keep up the exercise and release all those feelgood endorphins. Can't beat housework for exercise - tones you up and the house benefits too ;)

Bitsy - what channel was that programme on? I like something I can vent a bit of anger at :D

Podperson - :rotfl:at your OH foaming at the mouth.

I am feeling very tired today. The family across the road have a little kitten and they seem to think it's perfectly acceptable to leave it out all night. The thing is it's only 12 weeks old and it cries constantly and it just sounds so pitiful. I could hear it when i went to bed at 10.30, I woke up at 1.30 and was looking at it out the window for about 10 minutes but then I couldn't get back to sleep. I was still awake at 3.30am :(. I almost let it into our house if only so i could get some sleep. Its cries were heartbreaking. It was still out when DD and I left for school at 8.30. It dashed over to us and it followed us to our car. I think the poor thing is starved of affection and it must have been so cold, tired and hungry.

I took it back to the owners and they were still in their PJs - clearly they didn't have to get up for work! When i said 'Did you know your cat was crying all night to come in and kept me awake till gone 3.30 (and did it Saturday night too)? Don't you think it's a bit young to be out all night?', she just said in a whiney voice 'I didn't know.....'. I don't think she's very bright. Surely if you have a 12 week old kitten you must know if it's in or out??

Sorry for the waffle, rant over. My name will be dirt with them and all their chavvy mates in the road tonight.....

Have a good day everyone :)

polesalot - Poor kitty :(:( she's too young to be out and I they are risking her having kittens as don't they have to be a certain age to be neutered?? I fail to understand why some people have pets when they can't be bothered to put any effort in them :( I am afraid I'd be so soft I'd be bringing it home :o Claire Richards programme I think was either Channel 4 or Five, it's normally on at 9 but I was watching it on a +1 channel as it clashed with Who Do You Think You Are :o).

Thanks I thought it was too young. I would take it in but I think that might be classed as stealing!! Also the road has quite a lot of cars driving down it and it has no road sense! The other day as my OH left for work the kitten was under his wheels:eek:. Thing is now I think I have upset them and they are quite chavvy (am I allowed to say that?) and this girl's boyfriend is quite rough. My OH doesn't live with us so I feel a bit vulnerable now too.

I'll have a look out for that programme. It might be on Catch-Up or I'll look out for it next week. I was also watching Who Do You Think You Are - loved the elderly aunts - 'went off with some tart - silly b*gger' - classic!

I thought she was a scream!!! Appeared though that the younger one passed away this year which was a shame :(

Like something from a sitcom:rotfl:. Yes I think it was the younger one who passed away :( both have reached a good age.
