Went out on the 19th of july and brought my household a new dishwasher and fridge freezer at COMET with the money that my mum left in her will. Today 29/6/2011 dishwasher and fridge were delivered.
Fridge freezer has a 2 pin plug on it.????????
the delivery man phoned comet who said that i needed to get a adaptor for the plug and would wavier the scrap charge of £19.98 for my old applicences. ( sorry for spelling). I managed to find a 2 pin adaptor in my house but could not see if it would work has i had to leave fridge off for 2 hours. While this is going on my frozen food is slowly melting. After 2 hours i tried to turn the plug on but was not working. Rushed to homebase to buy another adaptor.
Have just spoken to comets who are saying that because it is not their fault that it was delivered with a 2 pin plug, they will send someone out to change the plug over to a 3 pin. They will not change the fridge for a model with a 3pin on it as it is samsung fault. Please where do I stand with this. :mad:0 -

Are you unable to wire a plug?
The obvious answer would be to obtain a three pin plug and replace the two pin one.
I suppose that now that fitted plugs have become mandatory, the art of wiring a plug is being lost. (And, yes, I can understand why you would not wish to do this if you didn't know what you were doing. There must be tutorials on the net, though.)There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
It does happen every now and again that a batch of an item gets sent with the wrong plug (never seen it happen to a fridge before, though)Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Hi shirtbutton
I was very sorry to learn of the problems you have experienced. It is unacceptable that your appliance was delivered with a 2 pin plug and that the issue has not been resolved for you straight away, by arranging an engineer to come out and change the plug. So that I can assist you with this issue further and resolve it as quickly as possible, please e-mail me using the link below. If you would prefer an exchange of the appliance in full, I can also arrange for this.

If you can supply your full name, address and any order details you may have, I will look into this matter as a priority. If you can also provide substantiation of the food that was lost due to this error, I will make sure compensation is considered for this.
Thanks

I would suggest the manager of the store probably doesn't really care that much and I doubt they have much control over the price of products. I would assume all prices will be set by the administrators. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I'm just amazed that Comet had still been going for as long as now. They are an absolutely terrible terrible company. The only thing they are (sorry, were) good for was to see an item in the flesh before going online to buy it elsewhere.
Comet will not be missed.0 -

But he is quite correct. A displayed price is purely an 'offer to treat'. They are under no obligation to sell it to you at that price, which was presumably an error. I'd imagine that the staff have other priorities at the moment. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
