    Hi Yall,

It's official :- Christmas starts this afternoon at 3pm at Chez MATH, except for Mrs MATH who has to keep on slogging at the coal-face until Friday (she may have mentioned that fact once or twice:p ) Once the MATHLETTS are home this afto we shall mark the begining of the festivities by hopping into our fleecy jimjams and cracking out all the nuts, sweets, nibbles and drink (yay)

All the cards are sent, the pressys are wrapped ready to be divvied out at my leisure. All the non-perishable food is bought, the turkey and the freezer are both stuffed. LOL
Thursday I shall do a full clean through and bed change and Friday I shall pick up the last minute food bits and that is it, from now on it's fun-fun-fun:j Slug-a-bed lie ins, bracing, muddy walks down the lane followed by hot chocolate in front of the fires are planned in with a few soppy Disney films and Quality Street eating marathons thrown in for good measure. Can ya tell I'm looking forward to it? LOL Christmas and February half-term are the only two holidays we spend in the emids so they are a bit special and we get to go to the local deer park, up the woods and resevoir and all the other places we never have time to do in 'real' life.

    Enjoy you rday all OS'ers

I've found half the desk Catzine!
I've not been a very good girl - spent more time at the pc than tidying around it. I have however managed to collate lots of my party plan stationery and offer it on Freecycle - I know it's an odd one, but there's a good few £ worth in there for someone who can use it. I've also managed to chase up the CSA, but a fruitless exercise. Last night my DS worked out for me that the 7k that is owed to me from over 3 years ago (ie, not including what is owed since) is responsible for 11k of my CC debt (just under 15k) due to the cumalative interest charges. I did point out however that I was the wally for trusting that it would be paid and continuing to stay in the situation (ie staying in work which meant I didn't have enough income to pay mortgage etc without using my credit cards)
Yikes!!! time to run and grab a shower cause I've got to go to college.
Penny pincher - love and hugs to you, you're one heck of a fighter.
    Nelski - happy birthday.
    Bye!

    Hi everyone!
Off to read up in a mo but hugs to those who need them.
OS today has putting away ironing, making the beds and cleaning the bathroom. Shall be dropping off some library books and buying some more threads for my dollshouse carpet on the way home.
Didn't do any of the sensible left brained things I'd promised to do last night...went to my mum's instead and we decorated polysterene balls with sequins and gorgeous threads to make some very pretty baubles whilst yattering at the same time. Much more fun!! Also discovered a velvet scarf I'd started to make from an old hippy skirt last year which I'd forgotten about. Have already got the lining and the beads to decorate it with so best go off and join the sewing challenge in the New Year to motivate me to finish it!!
Small person has his carol service today which OH is going to. He loathes singing with a passion [and he's had plenty of lengthy practices in the last week!!], is hopeless at sitting still [ants in the pants must be genetic because OH and I are major fidgets] and finds it very stressful being in front of an audience...so he's in for a fun filled and frolicsome afternoon!! Never mind he has a party tomorrow to look forward to!
In tonight and intend to be a good oldstyler and get my quarterly plan at least started if I don't hit the mulled wine first!!
    Have a groovy Tuesday

    Afternoon! :waves:

Am planning a compy day today - typing up books, Ebay listings (ready for Feb or so when I start listing again) and reading MSE. OH has gone to work this afternoon, so lots of peace and quiet for me. Will also make some mince pies - half pastry and half with strudel topping. Trying to get all my washing and ironing done ready for Saturday, so we can come back to a nice clean house

Had a nice time in Drake Circus last night - its open until 9PM, we went at about 7 and the place was empty! Shopping was almost a pleasant experience for a change.

I had loads of things to say, but I've forgotton them all now. Can't have been important.

    Breakfast: Toast
Lunch: Saus and Bean Stew for OH, Sandwich for me
Dinner: Toad in the Hole with Potato Dauphinoise and whatever veg I pick up later.
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment

Afternoon all - Hope we are well

(((hugs))) to annie, stay positive and dont let the neighbours grind you down. Is there a local neighbourhood watch you can contact? Hope you sort it soon, you cant be a prisoner in your own home. Do you have other neighbours near by? I remember a couple of yrs ago, I used to get stalked by a young girl on our street, it came to the point that i was receiving sexually orientated letters, which I had to involve the social services, and she used to sit outside my house, to the point that I couldn't go out. I used to ring or MSN my neighbour thanks DLB and she would watch me if I had to go out, and when I returned, I would toot my car horn and she would watch again. These are the neighbours you cant live without. Just hope you get someone who can be there for you, like DLB was for me.

Bunny still here, no news to report, I fed him this morning, and he's holding his head up more to feed. Instead of hand feeding him, I put the food near his paws for him to sniff n find. He's doing that ok. Still a long way to go, and I appreciate everyone's well wishes for him. DD has given him a cuddly toy to cheer him up!

I wanted to get organised this week, with delivery of family's cards/presents etc, but Im afraid its all gon to pot now.

Busy with cubs/scouts run tonight, at least its the last 1 until the new yr.

Better go and get changed and get ready for the school run
(((hugs))) to those who need them
Take care & love as usual xxx

  • Afternoon guys

Another constructive day in the house of stressed :D With the help of DD (8) we've de-cluttered both bedrooms (a major task I can tell you ;) ) de-moulded the hallway (disgusting I know) done a huge pile of ironing and generally tidied up. Tonight I'm making my sponge cake for Christmas and freezing it so I'll just have to ice it on Christmas Eve. Tea tonight is HM fish 'n' chips. Oh and I need to pop to Mr T's when DH get's home from work to get some shiny red wrapping paper to wrap DD's presents from Father Christmas (she wrote her letter to him but wouldn't show us  Fortunately I managed to steam it open and iron it closed again ;) ) so she really will believe this year :D

    (((((hugs)))))) to all
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Afternoon everyone :hello:

I've just had two days of supply teaching AND a phone call from the agency to say that they are putting up my daily fee :j :j :j I'm pretty happy about that one. Plus, they've got as much work as I want to do - subject to it being term time, obviously . Double :j :j :j :D

I got offered a job at the one yesterday BUT I felt that although the school seemed lovely and supportive, it's in a very similar situation to the one that I have just left. At the moment it seemed a bit like "out of the frying pan, into the fire" type scenario. I made the right decision for me, at the moment, though. :)

We spent last night at a friend's house, over near where we used to live. DH works just down the road from there, so he was in the lap of luxury driving 5 miles last night and this morning, whereas I had to get up mega-early to make the trek across the Fens to Peterborough and my day of supply.

DH has just text me to say that he doesn't want supper because he had Christmas lunch at work today. I had asked him when it was going to be, but he never seemed to know! No doubt "Auntie" Val, who works in the canteen at DH's work, gave him extra big portions. She thinks that DH needs fattening up and I'm not doing a good enough job of it! :D

Anyway, I'm having the ultimate OS supper tonight - fish, chips and mushy peas. ;) In the meantime, I'm going for a cuppa!

    Bye all

    Vicky

    Hi everyone:santa2:

I hope everyone has had a good day

Had a busy day getting all the Christmas presents bought( had to wait until now because DH should have been paid on Friday and it didn't go into the bank until this morning) so my feet hurt.
The shops were really busy but I got everything I needed and now all I need to do is wrap them and put them under the tree.:snow_grin

I have tomorrow off but my sister is coming down for the day so I want to have as little as possible to do so I am going to have to brave Tescos tonight but then hopefully I will just need bread, milk and veg at the weekend.(After tomorrow I am at work every day up to Xmas so if I don't get it tonight I will be doing without)

Anyway I'd better go and get on. The sooner I start the sooner I finish.

    Have a nice evening everyone

  • Good Evening

Thought would report in again as it will make a change putting done what Ive done instead of just what I plan.

Spent most of the day in the office other than a trip to the orthodontist. DD now has twin blocks & cant talk at the mom, they told her not to bother wearing them till she finishes school tomorrow so hopefully she will be really used to them by the time she goes back in Jan.

Got a lot of work done and just a couple of bits to do tomorrow. Ive put aside some filing till after Xmas now, I did want to get it done before but Ive just run out of time.

Tomorrow will be a quick tidy round in the morning then washing and ironing till I need to pick up DD at 2ish the school shuts early but the bus comes at normal time and I dont want her hanging around the town for 1.5 hours.

OH wrapped up his familys presents. Will do mine tomorrow. Beleive now have had all Xmas items delivered so will try and find time tomm to wrap up the last of the childrens and sort their stockings. MIL does stockings for them for XMas day and I do another load for when they see their cousins (they all get one) which will be boxing day this year.

Gonna go bed in a minute, will set the alarm for 5 but think will probably hit the snooze button! Had fish and chips for tea as was so busy but it wasnt nice and regretted it. Oh well, will be getting right back on the OS wagon after next Tuesday.

Hope you all have a lovely evening.
  • Evening all. OH is playing on his new game cube (he's took advantage of all these new console releases in true old stylee by purchasing the previous model cast offs second hand - we now own a £40 Xbox and a £25 game cube!!), therefore Ms 1982 is enjoying a glass of vino (the last but two bottle from my bargain laithwaites order). Completed my latest essay for my business studies certificate - also found out I graded 89% on my maths paper!!! Still searching for the white vingar - I think I saw it in Tesco but got mixed up as mum's is from asda and in a much bigger bottle. Anyway must buy soon as running low on fabric softner - so now is an excellent time to start.

Got email from play - thrifty ways book in the post!!! Planning on taking a tip a day. Will revisit the diet book too in attempt to deal with debt :)

New (2nd hand) car now in garage - only £380. Just need to tax (and get refund from old car in the sky tax disc) then it's ready to go!!! It's little too so still economical.

Made a chicken casserole tonight, yummy except onion wasn't soft enough for my taste. Have taken to adding pulse and grain to bulk out everything so used up some cous cous in the cupboard. It worked actually.

Have been checking out the gift pile - OH has got me a small boxed thing (me hopes its jewellry!)
    £4000 challenge

    Currently leftover - £3872.15
