Hi, just hopeing someone can help. We have been clearing out at home, trying to make a bit of extra cash for our holiday spends.
We had numerous heavy items in the garage, mainly car/kart parts. These were all listed as collection only due to size and weight.
This where my problem starts, One buyer insists that a courier will collect the items, but im at work so not sure how this will happen. I offered in the end to post via royal mail at their expense but they think 9.72 is too dear.
I have sent out another item by mail, and this again was collection only - was brand new items. The buyyer took nearly 3 weeks to pay and then demanded postage, sent the items and now have left bad feedback. They said took ages to arrive, i only post when the money is received, and it wasnt new. It was new still had labels/packaging on. Engine parts have oil on them to stop them rusting!!
Just a bit angry that it seams that im obliged to do ehatever the winner demands or you just get neg. feedback.

The moment you give in to a buyer they know they have you. If items can be posted then sell them with a postage cost added, you'll also get a lot more bidders.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. £9.72..Too cheap I would have searched for the dearest courier I could find and given them that figure. Or you can arrange
delivery but only on the 30th feb of each leap year.
Also insist on a bank transfer or cash on collection if they arrange a courier to stop them filing an item not received dispute.
3 weeks to pay??? You should have filed a non paying bidder after 5 days or is it 7? Reply to their negative, "Helps if you pay"
Or "No payment NO Delivery"Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Stick to your guns.
I would give them five or six days to collect or arrange collection but if they won't you can open a non paying bidder dispute.
You are quite within your rights and they cannot leave you negative feedback .
As for the previous neg, just leave a polite note in response .
As a buyer, I disregard neg feedback on a sellers page if they respond politely and their explaination is reasonable.0 -
Just annoyed, the buyer who left 3 neg and a positive with a bad remark against, has emailed saying i should be grateful they didnt file a case against me saying that the item wasnt received. I sent it via recorded delivery for that reason. I have left a follow up comment, took over 2 weeks to pay and then leaves bad feedback for no reason - avoid.
Hope noone else encouters these people, they were intent on scamming from the start as they claimed to have paid and then said it would be in within 2 days. Ended up being nearly 3 weeks. Total waste of time all in all.
We have loads more to sell, but feel that might leave for a bit. It was just some things so my youngest would have had some of her own cash to spend on holiday.BSC member 137

you stated collection only which mean's you're not willing to post it out. The winner is arranging collection, yet you're 'angry'.
Collection means just that, it means the item has to be collected from you as you won't deliver it so they're not doing anything you've not stipulated.0 -

what a load of crap--collection is by the buyer -not sitting in all day waiting for a courier!!
no, you're a load of crap. Collection is that the item is to be collected; where did i say anybody had to sit in and wait for a courier? that's right....
It's a collection only sale and the buyer wants to send a courier to collect..... see, collect.

Unless as in many cases the listing statesPostage: Collection in Person
Not collection by courier but collection in person. The winner is arranging collection,
As neither of these were stated as being supplied, the seller doesn't have to supply them, so the buyer must arrange a courier who is willing to collect unpacked or unboxed goods.0 -

Collection means person turns up at specific pre-arranged time, hands over cash, then takes item.
So unless you can find a courier service that will arrive in a 2 hour time slot and hand over cash for the item, then a courier is NOT collection!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
