    Hey everyone,

Wow the thread is so busy today, love it! :D

BIG HUGS to those that need it.

Pixie - Blimey your ex sounds like a piece of work! I'm 24 & if my Dad was doing that I'd be embarrassed lol. How are you the effing disgrace??? The mind boggles. Hope you manage to sort things out, just keep your head held high & doing what you have been - what's best for your kids :)
NTBY - The aim is to get out of the city for a bit as we are keen to experience Morocco for what it's really like rather then just the touristy bits (although it is always nice to come back to that if it gets a bit much!) but we're not sure where to go, & we're a little concerned if we go too far off the beaten track we'll end up in trouble as I know there are a few problems going on there at the moment! Any tips for me? We are thinking of taking a day trip to the Atlas Mountains at least, not sure if we should do an official day trip with a guide or just get a taxi there for example, & we'd also like to see a Mosque if we're allowed in...I know some basics of the culture so if we were allowed in we'd have to take off our shoes & cover our heads for example, but any other suggestions would be gratefully received, neither of us have been out of Europe so it's going to be very different (& exciting!) for us! Also....75p for a beer, wahey we all need to come visit you
Rdchick - Good luck with the job hunt, at least you have something in the meantime. Dont' despair about your OH, he must love you else he wouldn't be here still! How long have you been together if you don't mind me asking? Have another cuddle with your kitten, that'll cheer you up :)
Catmiaow - Hope you manage to destress a little! Take some "me" time, you deserve it
DNMS - Your post made me smile & giggle! I have missed your words of wisdom
La escocesa - I know what you mean regarding friends, but I guess that's life & we will meet new people all the time right? Hope you get something a bit more concrete about the job for your OH soon, but that's a great sign in the meantime :D

Thanks Perni and to everyone else, just being uber sensitive today!

we have been together near on a year - which I know is not very long and I've been in longer relationships but this one is different, we spoke about marriage and kids and stuff early on in the relationship and I personally have never been happier and want everything we spoke about to come true. He on the other hand hardly mentions it anymore although he doesn tell me everyday that he loves me so I know it's not that. I guess I would like to move the relationship on but he's obviously not ready for that which is fair enough. I guess I am also at the age where people I know are getting married and having kids and stuff so probably a little bit jealous...

Gotta be debt free before all that stuff can happen anyway :)

:A love and hugs to my besties :D

    xxx

In Morocco there's only one mosque that non muslims are allowed into, which is in Casablanca. I didnt make it there but its meant to be very pretty, and though casablanca itself is a bit rough around the edges its not quite the dump people make it out to be. If you're only out for a day or two, I would recommend taking a bus out to the coast - Essouara will be packed this time of year but is lovely fun, and my personal favorite is the beach town that Moroccans themselves go to, in El Jadida where people are friendly and not swamped by foreigners.

Any of the other imperial cities (Fez, Meknez, Rabat) can be a good stop to get yourselves lost in the souks, and I particularly loved the stunning roman ruins near Meknez. All easily (if uncomfortably) accessible by public transport.

Though Marrakesh and Fez can be overwhelming with all the hustling types, once you get out you'll find loads of lovely people who are eager for a chat - I was traveling alone and could hardly take a bus ride without the person next to me taking me out for lunch or tea afterwards. Fabulous place - a sense of humour will get you far with the good 'uns, and a firm no thank you will get rid of (most) anyone being too annoying on their sales pitches.

No idea on the Atlas, but I imagine if you found a town that could serve as a base you could easily get out on public transport.

    Have a fantastic time!

And definetly make your next trip to Uganda! I will buy you several 75 p beers as a welcome

    Hi everyone!

Wow I'm a bit late with this, just want to thank everyone again for sharing as it makes me feel more positive about everything and although I don't know anyone here as well as some of you all, I hope that all your not so positive situations become very positive for you soon.

I haven't done much today it DEFINITELY isn't a NSD today because we are having a new boiler fitted after nearly 3 weeks of me trying to get the old one fixed so have withdrawn cash, we have about £20 left in the bank until next tuesday and a bit of petrol in the car.
    so...
    have spent £1150
spent under £10 at netto, bought bananas, chicken, cheese and a big huge tub of coffee that was only £1.29!!!

My parents are going through some huge problems with my brother at the moment in that he has left them with a huge debt to pay off (been going on for a while now) and my head is reeling from what he is putting them through at the moment :(

I am cooking 1 box of the said chicken (2 boxes of drumsticks for £3.50) which will last us today and tomorrow, I will make the other box at the weekend.
As long as the kids are having proper food we are alright with sandwiches or cereal until payday!

OH...got a letter from HM tax saying we were overpaid on working tax credit so that's another £25 per month for 3 years now to pay them back their money ggggggggrrrrrrrr

    *sigh*

    xx

So feeling really rubbish today just signed up to Next thinking I could get some new clothes for the trip to Holland this weekend - Got £150 credit.

Then felt guilty because I don't actually have £150 so no point getting into debt

Cancelling the account right now :)

FREAKING LOVE THIS SITE - IT'S CHANGED MY LIFE xxxx

I hope that's a general offer NTBY! I may have to take you up on it! ;)

Essouara - this is the town I couldn't think what it was called! or how to pronounce it even! we stayed in a beautful riad for a couple of pounds

we caught the bus up to Quassazat (SP???) on the edge of the Sahara & drove up through the Atlas mountains, which were stunning - but a terrifying experieince!

La (no) shokram (thank you) got me a long way with the hard sell...
