When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Me:
  • Brekkie at home
  • Cheapo can of soup for lunch
  • Walking
  • Pennies in the jar
  • Check banking and cc later  Roll on payday Friday!
  • cuppa in work

    Morning all,

Thanks for starting the thread la ecosesa. I am beyond sleepy this morning, didn't sleep very well at all last night. Got a full on meeting all morning at work as well so need to try and be on the ball. :(

One look out of the window and I've decided against walking/swimming to work. Where did all this awful winter weather come from?

    My list:

    [STRIKE]Check bank & update spreadsheet
    PAD to santander (if possible)[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]
    NSD
[/STRIKE]Go to gym tonight to get some exercise
    [STRIKE]
    Work hard at work
Free lunch & free fruit at work
Not let negativity and office politics drag me down.
    [/STRIKE]
Have a fab (if a bit soggy) day everyone! xx

ETA: Have mangaed most of this today, going to give gym a miss because my mum has invited me round for tea. My dedication to exercise is not superceded by desire for homecooked meal! :o
    Debts at Highest £18600
    Overdraft £550/£900
    Egg Loan currently £6253
Credit cards - GONE AGAIN as of 26/07/11
    THIS TIME IT'S FOR REAL!
    Aiming for DFD 26/01/2012

    Morning all:D
Trying to be bright and cheery today though I don't feel it - had a rubbish evening with abusive phonecall form the ex, swearing at me...stupid man:mad: Long story, but I am only looking out for my girls, he's acting like an overgrown teenager.
So, must just not think about him and remember I am doing a good job of bringing up the girls without him, with not much help/money from him;)

Off work today which is good as I didn't sleep til late...must do some uni work and my friend's coming for a cuppa. Here's my list:
    • check banking
    • check onepoll
    • do P*cone survey
    • post ebay sales - another £34.50 to add:beer:
    • Withdraw Paypal money - £130+ in there...woopwoop
    • meal from plan tonight - Nigella chicken stuff
    • take chicken out of freezer to defrost for dinner
    • lunch at home
    • LSD - buy dd hairdye and do that later
    • Update diary
    • Smile:D:D:D
I'm loving the ebay sales right now - last night I sold some shoes for £30...I bought them for dd on ebay from the US, but he sent the wrong size so refunded me and didn't want them back. Obviously we didn't need them as the wrong size, so sold them - for £30...and we had the refund;) Kind seller.

    Anyway, must stop waffling:)
    Have a lovely day everyone.
I really need to sort out a new signature!

    Morning all!

Really loving these daily threads, keeps me focused on not spending for once in my life! Yesterday was a good day, instead of the usual Tuesday night takeaway with a friend we cooked what was in the cupboards and drank a few bottles of left over beer from a party instead of buying a bottle of wine! So I'm already making changes!

Today will be another NSD hopefully!

Remembered tea bags from home this morning rather the paying 20p for one.
    Lunch from home.
    Gym tonight.
Catch up on e-mails and update linked in.
Speak to BF who's away for a week, he's calling me!
Get to do list at work upto date including all my awful admin reports, eurgh.
Tea with parents tonight and early night!

    Xxxx

    Hello, all!

Thanks for starting us off, La E
Congrats to the new arrival, Wannabe!!! so exciting
Sorry about the ex, Pix, well done on being the bigger grown up.
So jealous of your hols, Pernie!! I really recommend getting out of Marrakesh if you can - the city itself is quite manic and touristy, but the rest of morocco is so fantastic, laid back and friendly that its well worth getting off the beaten track. Happy to wax lyrical, i love that country :)

Had a lovely night out last night at a free poetry evening - only cost me a pair of 75p beers and a motorbike taxi ride there. Yay!

    today I:
    • walked to work and will try to walk home
    • sort out per diems for trip to field starting tomorrow
    • pack for trip this evening
    • out for dinner with friend - will try to keep it cheapish
    • have emailed roommate about tenancy agreement which i still need
    • see lawyer about visa issues in afternoon, hopefully wont be too stressful
    • call mom on skype instead of phone

    Have a good one, everybody.
    Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000
