Just a quick update - I ended up with just over half a pound of (edible) Turkish Misery, which I gave to the old fella for Christmas. Sorry, didn't get chance to take any pics, but it was errr...passable.
I don't know if he's eaten it all, but he did try a bit and said it was ok. He might have just been being polite.
The truffles were also passable, but the rum truffles needed twice the rum in; it was barely noticeable.
I have come to the conclusion that I am not a confectioner. :rotfl:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Hey Mr Bad Example :hello: :hello:
Where have you been ???? I thought you might have eaten some of the turkish misery and choked to death.....or glued your hands together

Mr BE I wouldn't worry that your successes in the confectionery area aren't as great as in the other cooking you've been doing as I think it takes a lot of practise to be a good confectionerNever let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

Been away for Christmas. And yes, I like me Dad, but I'm not sure if he still likes me! :rotfl:
My Mum was mightily impressed with the parkin. :jIf you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
