Mmm rum truffles were the first thing I ever cooked - I was 6. I can't remember the recipe. However I do know that within the recipe thread is a coconut ice recipe and peppermint creams. Absolutely delicious!!!£4000 challenge
Currently leftover - £3872.150 -
You can get rosewater in Boots (careful it doesn't run out of the lace holes
)
You are correct, vermicelli are little worms - but you can get little chocolate worms, you know!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Ok, this will probably happen on Friday. Or Saturday. If I get everything else done first, that is.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

I always thought vermicelli was a sort of pasta (lit. little worms)? Is it the posh name for chocolate sprinkles?
I've never heard them called chocolate sprinkles. Maybe I is just posh!TL0 -

Just imagining these massive melon sized truffles being produced! Bet there is a market for that though! (My daughter would be first in line.)
With you here...it's vermicelli.......probably means wee worms in Italian! :eek:
Good luck Mr BE. Can't wait to see how you get on.0 -
YIPPEEEEE Christmas cooking from Mr BE:j :j0

I have a recipe! :j
Extremely simple and I have made a batch every year for Christmas since I was old enough to cook!
200g dark chocolate
1 tin of condensed milk
1-2 tsp of vanilla flavouring/extract
Melt the chocolate, stir into the condesed milk, add the vanilla and pour into a shallow dish (approx 7" x 9") which you have lined with cling film and chill in the fridge until set. It should make 30+ pieces.
Its a bit like a cross between fudge and truffles. Very yummy. I guess you could add rum, but I've never tried...0 -
