Thank you think what i need to do is go to another post office as I have weighed lots in the past and some items which have been the same weight have been charged at different prices not sure how as all wrapped in the bags but as soon as the item is on the scale I am told the price and the scales face them side on so unable to read the weight not sure the neddel has even stopped on the actual weight !!!

That post office sounds like it's trying to rip you off to be honest! Really bad of them not to try putting the parcel through the slot if they think it could be a large letter. Think of all the extra money they'll have generated! Complain!

I always just ask for "cheap as you can please" and they often give me a couple of price options. Which I think is weird because I then have to say "well I shall go for the cheapest one please..."

Does help to have an idea of what you should be charged before you go in then so I second the royl mail website recommendation
"He hopes and he wished it but it didn’t fall in his lap so he ain’t even here"
