    I'd make some laxative cake.

    Crossed my mind too

Hmmm, perhaps OPs child is mildly constipated and a wee spoonful of movocol is a good way to get the bowel movements flowing - would certainly 'flush' out anyone who accidentally ate it ;).

What could possibly go wrong with intentionally drugging a child?

    Baaaad idea.

If the perpetrator is worried about allergies / reactions to food then they wouldn't be taking unknown stuff in the first place :p!

Lol - that's nuts!!! So the poor bank-robbers that steal money from the bank to feed their children, the bank should provide double the quantity they need and a wee note saying go and seek some counselling poor thing! The wee toe-rag is stealing for whatever reason, and whilst I'm sorry for anyone who is hungry - it's not the OPs job to feed them!!!

Personally I defo wouldn't email the parents - you're setting yourself up for 8 years worth of disdain at school shows / parents evenings etc. IMHO I wouldn't even bother the teacher - get your son to lick everything in the morning, and put it in new wrappers and when he gets to the playground get him to loudly announce - my mum's gone mad, she now makes me lick my lunch before I come to school - anyone want a game of footie and I'm leaving my lunch bag just here ..... :D Failing that, do they do lunch boxes with padlocks on?

Well there are more ways to deal with a situation than punitive measures. Its a primary school kid and Im not saying feed the child forever just a few days until they read the note and realise that someone is aware of what is happening. A bit of compassion and if that doesnt work then go in heavy handed by all means:eek::eek::eek:
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Perhaps your child is the only one who is sent off every day with crisps and sweets, therefore his is the only lunch with any treats worth pinching? Why not consider sending you child off with something with a few less empty calories and include stuff which is more nutritious and wholesome and save the treats for at home.

Stop sending your kid in with chocolate bars and crisps.

He shouldn't be eating them in his lunch anyway.

No one is going to nick his food if it's sandwiches, fruit and yoghurt. Problem solved.

Let the school deal with it & stop putting in crisps & chocolate.

I doubt they'd be interested in stealing his lunch if it were a healthy lunch box. It doesn't solve the fact that there is a thief in the class but at least everyone will be healthy!

I'm surprised that they're even allowed crisps and sweets in their lunchboxes, my kids schools have never allowed it.

Except the thief! Maybe we could just let it continue for a few years and then blame the fattest kid in the class!

Thanks for all the replys, and for all the ones that made me laugh.

This has really got nothing to do with carrot munching lunch boxes :) .

As for if we dont put sweets in problem solved......I cant really believe that people think a solution to this problem is not to put in sweets/crisps. Its my fault someone steals .

What will it be next, my son/child has brought in a fancy rubber /pen/keyring etc and it is pinched. Is the solution , not too bring in anything that is remotely wanted.

Thanks for the reply's, i will see the teacher tomorrow and raise my concerns again, if that doesnt work , maybe my son will come down with horrendous constipation :) and need a few bars of laxative chocolate...... only joking :)

sorry but that made me laugh:rotfl:

to the OP i would speak to the teacher about it everytime it happens or even go to the head if nothing is being done...your child should not be going hungry cos someone else is pinching their lunch
    hope you get it sorted
