I have to say my experience with freecycle hs been very good, although you do get sick of people putting loads of silly wanteds on there.
I have also just opened a new walsall forum on a similiar group, although its quite empty at the moment once word spreads it should be brill, so please tell your friends

Please remember that these sites have volunteers running them and they do a fantastic job, so thanks all you moderators out there, keep up the good work x0 -

In Lincolnshire 'Freecyclers' seems to be growing better, its a forum based site.
I believe you can now set one up for your own area and not just around lincolnshire

This is now called don't dump that as Freecycle is a registered trademark which they should not have used.

Glad they kept the group but changed the name to something better.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

I am finding the replies to offered posts increasingly rude, I have listed a few things recently and replies have included "I'll take it call me now and I will arrange delivery" "I want it call me" "I will have it" even "Im the first to reply so its mine". These days I often just give it to the politest reply (which is becoming quie hard to do) as so many cant seem to even say please.
On another note whenever I post an offered ad I do seem to get a lot of the same people replying (no matter what I am offering) and I have not noticed these people offer anything on the board, whilst I realise that it is not in the spirit of freecycle it make it a condition that all users offer items as well as request them it does annoy me to think that a lot of the people replying are making quite a bit of money on it, someone recently collected an item from me, they were several hours late collecting it... the excuse... they were late because they had so many other pick ups to make that day it took them longer than they thought (they turned up in a transit van packed with stuff) now call me sceptical but I find it hard to believe that someone would need or could make use of that many items that had been offered on freecycle in that short a space of time without selling it on0 -
These people do "get a name" within the group. If you notice the-so do others. They rarely get all of the stuff they try to grab. I encourage members to use the fair offer policy and messagmaker. I also encourage people to put a taken post and mention who collected it-thanking them. Then we all know what is going on.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0

There is also a scam going around with Freecycle .It goes like this . You see a msg offring a laptop & reply. The guy comes back saying you can have it but it just died , how much to fix it as will send you the money . he then says that he has to leave town but an associate will drop it round but to speed things up can he have your bank details that way the lap top can be fixed before delivery . This happened to me on our local freecycle group . I reported him to the group admin .Just thought I flagg it with people0

Well that is basically "buying" the laptop-even if it were genuine and that is not allowed. Your group owner can spread the word to other groups-which group was this on as Ive not heard about it(yet)Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
