Agree..I've done my fair share of registration on the internet, but YAHOO, what a shower.Don't buy their shares if they have any.

Am I being dumb, cos this link only seems to show US stuff. I'm in High Wycombe, Bucks and would welcome something like this - we have lots of clutter to get rid of!

Someone wanted the London Freecycle link? here
 In my new basket: A slightly whiffy blanket; Racy’s 2nd favorite jumper; remains of a slipper; 2 sticks (1 chewed); bouncy ball collection (4); Racy’s iPod :shhh: and a large sock (found under Racy's bed)

• Hi,

If you look under the International option from the mail page, then you should get a list of all the ones available worldwide - including the ones in the UK.Hope that helps!

I've just posted the following info on the NI freecycle thread.......

I have just had clarification from Martin on freecycle. Due to site regulations, we can't unfortunately allow a freecycle board to be set up within MSE. It would fall into the same category as selling items and could, unfortunately be open to abuse. Martin is happy enough for it to be discussed here, but that's as far as it goes I'm afraid.

Please respect Martins wishes on this and DON'T post any items which you want to swap or are looking for.

Hope you don't mind me passing this info on in here;)

• I came across another site similar to Freecycle the other day, http://thefreebay.org - only its sole focus is the UK (being a UK site) - very new, but they had the idea to allow image attachments with 'Offered' items, something which freecycle definitely lacks. Worth checking out.

I started Yeovil freecycle
(in Somerset, UK)

Here is the direct link...
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/freecycleYeovil/

Please spread the word about it and sign up for your closest town or city.

The more stuff we can keep out of landfill sites the better...

and you can find it here

I can't vouch for how good it is because I haven't used it but if you're in Bristol and green-minded they have some useful links.

I'm also going to point the people who want help with their clutter and hoarding in this direction. Some of us think it might help us part with our treasures if we knew they were going to a good home ...

EDIT! Bristol's 'Swap it' scheme may not be the same thing as freecycle, especially in that you can say you want to swap your item for something completely different, or for a donation to charity, but when I last looked there were quite a few 'free to good home' items there as well. But I think it's similar enough to count!
Just gone on the site to find:
Dear advertiser

Thank you for your interest in the Swap It website.

Unfortunately the website will close on October 31st, as funding is no longer available to administer the project.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

What a dreadful shame.
