The old saying goes " a fool and his money are easily parted" ( I am not saying that you are a fool ;))
That and with the bad experiances I have had with cars
I would walk away, rather than spend lots of money on bits that need doing on it in 3,6,9 months time.
I'm no fool and, as my wife would happily testify, I'm not easily parted with my money!
I think I agree with you. Just tempted!

We had 2 Kia Sedonas (example at your price guide). If you can get a model with fitted DVD it makes journeys much more relaxing when using the wireless headphones ( the kids in the back using them of course!). I cant talk about reliability because neither of our two went wrong.

Mrs S still misses our second one which we parted with last year. The model range changed in '06 so if you decide to look at them bear this in mind. A big positive for us was the vast amounts of room (it's a bit bigger than a Sharan I think?). The Kia had sliding rear doors which was also another big plus when the tribe tumbled out of the back in a narrow parking bay.

do you intend to go round smashing into walls and other vehicles?

euro ncap is fine BUT the accidents staged are worse case scenarios

    we have 2 GVs

:rotfl: no, its certainly not on my to-do list and I've never had even a minor dink let alone a full head on collision... but you never know! I do love my GV.

Hmmm, I like the look of that, Sobraon.

What do people think of this one? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201120387415343
    Or this one? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201122389112201

Whoa, this is the one I want: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201123390003756
Low milage, all proper seats, sat nav, parking sensors and a DVD screen that comes down from the roof!

I've always resisted in car entertainment (we put our socks on our hands and played puppets in our day!), but that does sound cool.

What do other people think of the Sedona?

Hold on, just seen the engine size. Would insurance on a 2.9l be horrendous? And fuel consumption?
  • I had a Kia Karens once (before the days of needing a people carrier) and I liked it - it was a bit plasticy and basic but that appealed to me. Out of your choice - the first one has waaay too may miles on the clock for that age (IMO) the second is nice, the 3rd has a lovely low milage but it IS 3 years older than the 2nd one and it IS also more expensive. I'd like to look around both 2nd and 3rd (forget first one) and test drive. The 2nd one - is it from a dealer? it says "seller" I dont trust auto trader private sellers - there's no comeback if things go wrong (although I have double standards and have sold privately on there ;)) but don't take my word for anything, I'm quite new in my appreciation for all things motorised :p

24mpg - its not great, our grand voyager does better than that - and they're not known for being economic but we've just sold our Lexus which was about 15mpg.

You're right - the second one is a private seller. I missed that.
I'd been putting Trade only, but must have forgotten on that search.

Phoned the dealer of the 3rd one and they do an extended RAC warranty for £500 a year up to 4 years (3 months warranty included as standard). Sounds reasonable.

The sedona from what I was told is pretty reliable, its the mercedes 2.9 diesel. The description a friend said about the sedona "Its a bit agricultural, not the prettiest car on the road but its very reliable". He hires cars full time so reliability is key for him, not had one myself so can't give an opinion. They do seem to be a lot of car for not a lot of money though.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

WTS - If you dont mind it not being a "pretty" or state of the art car I dont see any problem. Certainly I loved my kia.
