They may be replacing secure keys provided by RSA Security. RSA were recently subject to a cyberattack.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

i havn't received my letter yet but i dont really want to have to carry it round to get on my internet banking.I know someone who's got one and it doesn't look wallet friendly.saved £1500/£1500 by december 31st 20110

Got mine last week. The card is a little smaller than a credit card and about 3 times the thickness. I'm going to try carrying around in my wallet for a while to see if it's annoying. If so then I'll just leave it at home and lose the ability to do internet banking from work or when I'm travelling - which I thought was the whole point of online banking anyway.
I also have a card reader for my Nationwide account but that is (currently) optional - so I have just thrown into a drawer and forgot about it.0 -
Does this apply to First Direct customers as well? I'm with FD, and have not received any noification about this/"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I bank with FD and asked them on a recent call. The CS rep I spoke to said they had not been told of any secure key type device being planned.
But I reckon it will happen one day, just not that soon.
At which point I'll just revert to ringing them up for everything!0 -
