My van!

It's clearly a private sale, so a dealer would have to take off the VAT before he stands it in, so that's £538, before he factors any costs. He is not going to pay private sale prices, because he needs to make a profit. So, any dealer is not going to pay above book price, is he?
I'm talking about me personally... Not Work,..
No thats quite obvious.... But not everyone who buys vans are dealers are they?....0 -

But the point of this thread is the OP's query about whether the dealer offered her a fair price. In my opinion he did offer the best price for a trade sale. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Was it a dealer that offered the £150?.... I must of missed that bit;).
And TBH I thought the main question was if the idea of her acheiveing £1k for it reasonable and where best to shift it?...0 -
Thank you everybody for your replies. Now to be perfectly honest I cant answer some of your questions because I dont understand them. I can tell you I am not vat registered so therefore cannot charge vat on any purchase. It was not a dealer who offered me £150 as far as I am aware. The van is not a pile of carp, the paperwork I have are the V5 and the details on there are
Type Variant MBWJYB Version M*WJY*
Its a Berlingo 1.9D 600
Cylinder capacity 1868CC
Wheelplan 2 axle rigid body
She runs on Diesel and is economical compared to my car!!
I also have the mot certificate and details of all previous mot's
I have the receipt from buying it
Plus I have a receipt for all the work I had done.
Does that answer some of your questions? I know it is worth more than £150 I would just like some advice on whats a fair price to me and the buyer
Thank you0 -

But no service history.
I can see why you are struggling to sell it.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
I have a 52 plate Citroen Berlingo in good mechanical condition with a few minor dents etc..on the outside. She is mot'ed till Feb 2012 and she is taxed as well. She has recently had a new clutch and is all panelled out. I need to sell her though as I need a bigger van. But I am having no luck at all with it. As soon as people realise I am female thats it....I have been offered £150 quid - doing me a favour there apparently...I have been told its practically worthless cos its a 52 plate ..........no good these vans when they get to 5 years old!!! I just want to sell it. So what can I do? I would like to get at least £1000 for it....Is this reasonable? The clutch and other parts cost me 400 not so long ago. Where would be the best place to sell it? Ebay I fear I will have more of the same...Really just unsure what to do but I have to sell it to get the new one!!! Can anybody hel[p me please? Thank you
Oh, I had such a model and it was quite nice car :beer:0 -

Welcome to the forum Link, but as a point, the OP is asking about her van, not the Multispace. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Did I take it the wrong way?
I take it that you meant the van was expensive at that price?
I thought so to but I still think it will sell easily in the under a grand price area.
But £1500, no way.I would struggle to value that at one hundred and fifty pounds.
One hundred and fifty pounds!!! Not, one thousand five hundred.
It will fit in the "under a grand" price, but closer to five hundred than than a thousand. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
I didnt say £1500, I said I would like around a £1000 for it - The garage said to put it up at £1500
£1000 would then be the deposit on my new van x I am genuinely just after some advice to sell her. Thank you0
