Wouldn't it have been better to ask what the mileage of the van is and about its service history, whetehr it is an L or an LX and what engine it has? ;)

Look at completed listings on ebay, 90's non runners and MOT failures are £500+

    As Mikey says....

Like I said I'm on the lookout for a HDI Enterprise with the the Side Door...We run quite a few in work and always on the look out for additions to add that require a bit of TLC... I have a look at the Berlingos regularly on EBay and see what they go for so I'd be quite sure a tidyish 52 Plate Berlingo will easily make a £1k plus regardless of if its L or an LX or what engine... HDI would probably be worth a little more than the N/A version.

And TBH at this kind of money van wise I dont think many would care less its a L or an LX... They'll both be basic boggo spec.

Spot, at this kind of money someone is looking for a van its that simple. Someone is going to far more interested in the service history and whats been replaced recently over what spec it is.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

A average 52 plate 1.9D LX 600 books at less than three and fifty hundred pounds plus the VAT. If it is dented to beggary and has no service history I wouldn't give more than a hundred for it.

    ETA:

Have a look at ths one.

It's selling at £700. What do you think a dealer would need to stand that in at, to make a decent profit? Don't forget to take off the VAT at £140, netting £560.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

Yes which is why I said easily make £1k plus originally....

No History and Boggo Spec up on miles but tidy presentable condition... 1.9D or HDI it'll easily make the £1k mark no problem.... History and lower miles etc and we should be seeing £1k plus....

Have a look at the example I posted earlier and tell me how much you think it's worth.

  • Now thats one of them !!!!taking adverts where he wants £1100 but to save a few bob he's put £700 is it not?.. If the £700s genuine price I'd tempted to have a look as its got Full test etc and run it as is...

I dont do VAT ...Private Sales and Cash only..... So lets assume its a private sale... Unless its a dog of thing it'd easily make £1kplus.....

It's clearly a private sale, so a dealer would have to take off the VAT before he stands it in, so that's £538, before he factors any costs. He is not going to pay private sale prices, because he needs to make a profit. So, any dealer is not going to pay above book price, is he?
