Welsh Poppy - sad news, but a great age. Treasured memories I bet. Take care.

Just plodding along so far, had jam on toast for breakfast, snack with yogurt and banana and pork chop later with roast veg. Made up a little stuffing also.
Had a call saying my 3 tins of paint are ready to pick up from Wilko's, so off there soon. Foodbank will have to wait until next week - I'll do a double donation then.
Might pop into Morries for more bananas (offer at 68p per kilo) and have a look in Matalan.
I have 2 naan breads that need using, so possibly naan bread pizzas tomorrow. Also took out some pate for pate on toast for breakfast tomorrow and might use a few vol-au-vent cases.
I was going to buy a few pack of Lidl's 99p middle bacon at the weekend, but thinking of just the 1 pack now.
I've got just enough milk for today, but might pop into Sainsbury's tonight and see if there are any bargains.

  • Welsh Poppy - so sorry about your cat.

Lip_stick - hope you are feeling better.

NSD today - enforced really because I have only £50 to last until the end of the month. Had poached eggs on toast for brunch and then about an hour ago I had a craving for something sweet so I did a big cupboard hunt and found nothing. I then remembered that I had an Aldi gingerbread house which I had bought at Christmas for my friend's little girl, but hadn't given to her. I am ashamed to say that I opened it and ate some:o It was actually really nice.

Have just made some bread and it is in the oven. We will have that for tea with some chilli - I will get some mince out of the freezer in a minute.

It was wildly windy last night here but today it is really sunny and even a bit warm! Hope you are all having a nice day.

Spent just £3.44 in Morries on bread and bits and grabbed a bag of meat-counter offcuts for only 45p. Loads of stuff including lunch tongue, turkey, pork, beef etc. Quite a decent sized bag (700g I think). Also bought some Basa fillets reduced for £1.05 which wil do for fish-cakes.
So we had cheap meat sandwiches. lol
Pork chop will probably wait until tomorrow now.

Hi all, not been around for AGES! Hope you are all well. Mini-ammonite arrived in a whirl wind a few months back and life has been nuts since then. Our freezer is beautifully stocked, there is a good stock of cleaning products and our cupboards aren't bare so...it's time to eat what we have before going to the supermarket as I seem to have fallen back into my old habits of spending a fortune each month at the Supermarket.

Hope you will have me back ?! :D

Still no dinner photos. This house renovation work is so tiring - and I am not doing it! :(
Moving stuff from rooms is hard work and everywhere is so dusty. I at least had one room untouched by the Plumbers - the kitchen - but they started in there today!
We have to squeeze in the gate way past the skip. Roll on Tuesday when the Plumbers are due to finish. :)
We had chicken kiev with HM wedges, mange tout, carrot and onion for dinner.
Just some HM bread out of the freezer tonight.

    Morning all.

Ended up having a banana for lunch and sausages, mash, mushrooms and sweetcorn for tea last night, sausages and sweetcorn from out the freezer. Bought a couple of things from shop yesterday but only a pack of party biscuits and a pack of buns that'd both been whoopsied so only paid a £1 for them both.

Ds is at beavers tonight so if the weather is ok I plan to take him to park before that, and get him something from chippie for tea.

Welsh Poppy - sorry to hear about your cat. Such a shame when a pet that's been with you so long, goes.

ammonite - congrats on having your lil one... boy or girl? Have you got others or is this your first?

RS - you made me laugh with your ginger biscuit house. Lately, whenever I've had a sweet tooth, I've asked ds if he wants to open an Easter egg. :D

Flo - We all know you're really actually having a big kebab and cheesy chips when you don't show us pics. :p
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Morning all, winds have died down and bright today. Do a little more gardening.

ammonite - welcome back and congratulations.

Spent £2.70 last night in Sainsbuty's and put some bits in the single freezer drawer I want to clear!! Only a sticky toffee pudding, fruit loaf and whole grain loaf. That will all get used next week and nothing needed for the freezer, only fruit and veg next week and a few basics.
Quite a bit for £2.70 which included 4 pints of milk and the sticky toffee pudding would have been £2.75 at full price - feel like I got the rest for free. lol

Pate on toast for breakfast, pork chop with the roasted veg (yesterday's meal) and some of that cheap meat for a sandwich. Yoghurts and fruit for snack.

  • Morning all - just typed a post and hit a button and it disappeared!!

    Ammonite - WB and congratulations!!

Had some porridge for breakfast and then when I got in the car to go to work I found a packet of biscuits which must have dropped out of my shopping last week and I'd forgotten I'd bought - I thought I would have one and by the time I got to work half the packet had gone! They were lovely though - white chocolate raspberry and pistachio cookies.

Lynsey - that 700g meat offcuts for 45p is amazing - I have seen bags of offcuts but they always look a bit rank - are they okay?

DD won tickets from a TV show to go and see One Direction tonight in Manchester so will be going there tonight with her friend. Her Dad is taking her so there will just be me for dinner - will probably have l/o chilli.

I made some bread yesterday but it was not nice - it went really "chewy" and tasted a bit yeasty IYKWIM.

Hope you are all enjoying nice weather like us here in Merseyside!

It was a bit of a "lucky dip" as they were already bagged up.
We decided we couldn't lose much at 45p and was hoping for some ham pieces to top a pizza.
Some of the pork was fatty, but just cut off the fat and gave it to the birds.
Better than what was expected though, especially the turkey breast slices.

I know what you mean, sometimes it does look "rank" on the actual counter.
