^ Have never eaten a pea out of a tin, I've actually no idea what they do to make mushy peas mushy even??

JB - Good going then on making the f&v last. I've done a week without shopping now since the delivery but am severely missing my bananas! Not much of my veg box left and am itching to buy more already, been looking at the Riverford site tonight..

Edwardia - the dried apple and ginger biscuits came out really well, couldn't believe it, will make them again. Pets incurred another £50 vets bill and ongoing treatment for probably a month..

I hadn't eaten tinned peas until I met DH. He introduced me to a whole different world of food:

    doner kebabs
    shish kebabs*
    value burgers
    mushy peas
    home-made chilli pickled onions
    Mr Brain's faggots
    pickled eggs *
    tinned potatoes
    brawn*
    reformed ham
sliced cucumber swimming in malt vinegar
    pork luncheon meat
    aerosol cream with booze in
    tinned carrots
    saveloys*
    instant mashed potato
    haslet*
    pease pudding*
    pork scratchings*
    Fray Bentos pies
black pudding (Laverstoke Park Farm's converted me)
    streaky bacon
    tinned potato salad*
salad cream mixed into cold mashed potato
    breakfast rashers
    tinned all day breakfast
    tinned coleslaw
    Iceland

    * = I liked it :D

Expensive piggies Kirri ! Well done on the biscuits :)
  • The food is really looking delicious.

Morning all, up bright and early today.

Edwardia - he's not really an "isheep" yet, but could be when he's more successful I suppose. He loves the Apple format and used to it now I suppose. Hubby can't get away with it.
Your OH won't let you touch his ipad? What about his "dongle"? ;)
"isheep" is in the Urban Dictionary - LINK

Sadly I did spend yesterday, but only 58p and possibly the best "whoopsies" this year so far.

2 x packs of Sinsbury's Grated Mozzarella (500g pack) reduced from £3.25 to 29p per pack. Bread bargains were poor, so I'll buy fresh today.

I'll freeze the cheese into packs and we are having naan bread pizzas today. Probably toasted tea cakes and bacon butties later.

Not too sure what to do tomorrow (Valentine's Day) yet. Hubby's off, so we might go out for lunch. Hate eating out in the evening when an "event" is on.

Kirri - have you not considered pet insurance?? Expensive times and I feel for you.

skilly - well impressed with your SPC target - well done.
Lots going on in your sig. Very busy lady. lol

I'm trying to save this year and we have 4 sorts of "schemes" going on. Thankfully Xmas fund is sorted and not too sure what to do with the SPC. What are you planning to do with yours?

Edwardia - sounds like you needed to convert your OH rather than the other way round! I can't think of anyone who could influence me to eat all/any of that!! Tbh I'd be pretty shocked at the sort of stuff they were eating! From that list the only things I've eaten are streaky bacon and saveloy (both years ago pre veggie of course).

Lynsey, unfortunately not, due to species and the fact I only ever get rescue animals, ages usually unknown. Bill so far this year is £650+

Hmm food today, got to go out later, do I nip in and get some bananas on the way..

Muesli and yoghurt to start - might make some fruit bread later for a change in breakfast..

Lunch - probably the last jacket potato

Dinner - to be decided, got a few things I need to use up:
olives and rocket - need to make pizza base
Half a leek, bit of celery - stir fry
Cabbage - could make potato cakes
  • Morning all.

Last 2 pancakes today, might have the tiny bit of veg pasta for lunch and a cup of chowder, took out 500g of mince, half will be turned into a slow cooked chilli using a can of 5 beans, the other half will be turned into meatballs using the last egg and some tomatoes for sauce and some leftover rice.

Morning all. Just a quickie before I have to scoot off. Made the mistake of saying I'll go to the market with dad, which means I'll spend. :(

Was supposed to be going to see a play today but the lead role is stuck in Italy, so disappointed with that, had been looking forward to seeing Tom Thumb lol.

Ds had gone with his dad since we aren't seeing the show, so it's just me for meals today. Might grab something at the market for dinner. No idea about tea.

Hope you all had lovely pancakes! Take care all x
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.
