^ I was looking at iphone 4s deals before but decided just to get a free Samsung in the end which I love. Was just before they gave out the figures of 300 mobiles a day stolen in London

Kirri - I never thought to look at TK Maxx for kitchen stuff :T I have Le Creuset but also a Tefal with the spot in the middle which goes solid when ready to use. My mother got it on offer in Sainsbos. Very handy, really light but so non stick I'm chasing fried eggs round the pan :D

Sounds like my John Lewis frying pan ^ ! I find TX Maxx too much hassle for clothes, but for kitchen stuff it's quite good as tend to get a lot of branded ranges quite cheap but it's very hit and miss what is in at any given time - they have a lot of Le Creuset items in randomly too, I'm waiting for the big mixing bowl jug to come up in purple in there.. (they had it in lime green!) got my pancake pan in there a few years ago and muffin tins, Prestige baking sheets etc.

No breakfast this morning. Been chasing workmen and finally got authorisation on the rest of the works.. dreading the day they arrive though!
Got to dash off to vets again (unplanned  ) after lunch. Means will have to put petrol in as been using the car so much lately..
    Having quick jacket potato shortly.
May do hazelnut milk pancakes tonight but unsure.. prob be too knackered to bother by time I get back!

So, nothing much used out the freezer unless I get dinner out of it.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Kirri - I'm more worried about him dropping it!!
The amount of phones he's broken is amazing and in the past we've always sold the high end phones. He has a Galaxy Ace at the minute ............................. with a broken screen!!
He's an "isheep" and loves Apple products, so hopefully he'll take more care. No problems with the ipad so far (touch wood).

Enjoyed the pancakes, simply with sugar and lemon juice. Roll on next year.
Bread was a disaster - over cooked it!! Hope the birds don't mind. lol
I did put the paddle in though, so got something right!!

  • Afternoon all.

Attempted a walk, but it started rain-snowing, as soon as i got back in it bloody stopped grr, couldnt be bothered to go back out, so i cracked on with some stuff that i had to do.

My work on the kitchen starts next week, now that my week is completely busy!

Had cream cheese bagels for Breakfast, sweetcorn chowder for lunch and i am finishing the veg pasta, there may be enough for 2 portions left, so ive had my 2 veg days already for the week, it was a bit unplanned though.

^ have had some flakes of snow here too, still lying on the ground on the edge of the Downs. Can you leave them to get on with the kitchen or will you have to be there to supervise?

Lynsey, hope you've got him a good accidental damage policy to go with it then! Virgin have started adding it on for free now (well if you can call increased package prices free..) but it covers me even if someone else breaks my phone, think the wording was 'your dog or your mother even' or something like that.

Still not decided on dinner, either stir fry or may just get a hm nut roast portion out of the freezer. Half tempted to just stick another jacket potato in the oven. May try pancakes tomorrow instead now.
  • Been working my way through HM meals from the freezer over the last couple of days, and still plenty to choose from:); might have Morrocan spinach & lentil stew tonight:p.

    So, 11 consecutive no-food-spend days and counting:T

^ Are you not getting bored of not having fresh food? When I did that the other week I hated it!!

I ended up having another jacket potato for dinner and took out the freezer half a Quorn Roast left over from xmas dinner and so had 'sliced cold meat' with it.

Just made a very quick batch of oat biscuits - added in some dried apple I'd had in a pot half eaten, to use it up and some crystalised ginger I'd bought to make biscuits for a long bus journey 2 years ago and never used... year out of date so thought I'd best use some. I'd rather have choc biscuits tbh but will never use these things up unless I force myself to! Currently in the oven so see what they taste like...

I am still here! Got another sick child now and managed to get doc to give out antibiotics today after two trips. Tonsilitis. Watching little one and hoping he doesn't succumb..

PARTY went very well indeed. The kids who were going to the other party before I moved mine.. well one couldn't make ANY of them, one well his mum was going to pick him up early, tried, saw he was having too much fun and let him stay and the other one stayed till the end too - yay! DS2 was recovered and had a ball which was excellent but DS1 was starting to get sick and is just starting his meds so might make it back to school before half term.....

food - have bought more and eaten loads... but I think we are in the position where we have a little bit of freezer room. Got more meat at the weekend but not too much (3kg mince for £5...:D and two reduced chickens from Lidl).

Could do with another cookfest as only have one cottage pie left from the last one two weeks ago. But not got the time or energy atm!! Need to get littly better first.

I am sorry I couldnt read everything but I DO hope you are all OK!!! xxxxx
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

I've been mixing freezer meals (TBH, the Morrocan stew I had tonight that I'd frozen and reheated tasted a lot better than the original batch, it must've had time to improve) with freshly cooked stuff using the longer-lasting veg, plus HM bread that I'd frozen (does that count as fresh?), and I've a big bowl of fruit I'm still working my way through, again stocked with longer-lasting fruit (there's a mango in there which I don't think will ever ripen:)). I don't drink milk, so that's not an issue.
So I'm not bored just yet; it's an interesting experiment, but I wouldn't want to repeat it too often.

    No freezer visits today.
Dinner was HM garlic potato wedges with gammon, mushy peas and grated carrot/red onion in garlic mayonnaise. It was yummy.

OH would hoover that up Florenceem, he loves any kind of pork and mushy/processed peas but sorry, I just can't eat tinned peas :(

    Jelly Biactol, that's a great effort :T

Kirri, how did the apple thang turn out and how are the pets

(((katskorner))) I bet you're hoping winter illnesses will be over soon ! Well done on the party :T

Lynsey, like isheep lol.. I will wind OH up by calling him that as he has an iPad I'm not allowed to touch :(

NSD for me. Ocado emailed and told me I'm getting partial refund on my savings pass ie 6.79 of 8,99 because it's being combined with the delivery pass. :)

I am going to try and buy some Taittinger to have belated Shrove Tuesday-St Valentines's Day dinner when OH gets back.

Nothing in or out of freezer.
