Had to laugh at this, the rise of the 'professional shopper' ;) watch out, Morries are probably watching and reading..

    Lol. - Professionals. :rotfl:
"They are customers who are spending to a specific budget - they are spending more time cooking at home, so cooking from scratch."

"And they are shouting about the bargains that they see out there, going onto social media checking for them and communicating them," he said.

    Toast and coffee.
    Fishcakes (hm) with last potato.
    Not too sure from there.

Dentist this morning and MOT late afternoon - could be a very expensive day.............OUCH.............and that's not my teeth hurting!!

    Morning all

Just been making some kind of lamb shoulder concoction for the slow cooker so tea is all done. Made enough for a few batches to go in the freezer. Remind me never to buy a sweet mama squash... Unless it's ready prepared. What a faff about! Added half of one, couldn't be bothered hacking at the other half! It's also got carrot, onion, red and orange pepper, sultanas and apricot. Will add honey near the end.

Not having anything for breakfast, probably have soup for dinner.

Had a NSD yesterday. Well, partly. Mam & dad brought me some milk and chop sauce after taking ds for dinner. Didn't have any change so I owe um.

Need to clean out the rats today. Was going to do it yesterday but I keep my rats in the bathroom while I'm doing it and next door were hammering & drilling on the wall so it probably would frighten them..... oh God, they've started again, and I've got headache... SHADDUP! Also need to clean my bedroom and vacuum all over.

This time next week, I will be on the journey from Hell. Not looking forward to that!!!

Lynsey - just how many hand washes do you have now?

Hi all, can I join please???

I have been reading through with interest and as i'm now officially skint :( I dont really have any other option but to use up my overloaded cupboards/freezer.
I'm pretty sure I can manage for at least 2 weeks with the exception of milk & fresh fruit, I have plenty of veg in the freezer.
It's just me and dd who is 6, I do get paid weekly (I know very rare these days lol) on a Friday but this week and next week I have some unexpected costs so I will prob have around £10 each week for food.
Thanks to the use of coupons I am as well stocked as any supermarket for washing powder, softner, fairy, flash, toothpaste etc so no need to spend anything there.
I'm sure I can do this but I need some encouragment from all you experts please!!
    Thanks
    BE xx

Hi there BE. Welcome to the thread. Hope you find it useful. You may find doing a stock take of your cupboards and freezer may help in organising your meals and preventing you buying things you don't need.

I know I'm going to come across as a bit of a cow but was shocked at the young woman in front of me. She had two bags full of shopping & it had come to £40  I think I'd have a heart attack if I spent so much on so little.

You cow! :rotfl: Just kidding!!!! Oh I remember the days of spending those amounts on virtually naff all. Don't think I could go back to that again, unless I won the lottery... even if I did, I'd still buy whoopsies. :D

Having a dressed fillet of salmon joint for dinner tonight - adding an extra salmon fillet to it so it goes round everyone - all from the freezer and the joint was reduced in the first place. My kind of meal :)

    Pardon?? That's a bit personal!! :D
I've got 8 of the free ones from Asda if that's what you mean.
Also actually using 4 from the last time, but 2 were £2 each and 2 were £1.50 each.
Lots of refills, batteries (last for ages) and bodies - though will send 2 to son once I finalise his parcel.
BTW, have you changed your €'s yet?? May have a small glitch.

My previous OUCH should have been much, much louder, perhaps an OUCH or even louder than that!!!
    I need some work from dentist and a crown - £204!!! :(

Got the b****y car to come yet!!! Please Mr MOT man be gentle.

Popped into Lidl and bought some biscuits and bread flour - £1.70 spent.
A little grocery shop were selling bags of Maris Piper for 25p, so got 1.
2 packs of hot cross buns for £1 from Tesco, so £2.95 spent so far and happy with what I got for the outlay.
Still need carrots, but may get some in Morries tomorrow or Saturday - got a small can of carrots for an emergency.

Hubby got his stout from Lidl - 8 bottles for £8.

quintwins - that creamy chicken sounds nice.

MELLA - lettuce soup sounds weird, but if it tastes like pea and ham then it should be nice - did you add any bacon??

Decided not to have lunch, don't feel that hungry, bet I'll feel starving in an hour. Lamb casserole is coming on nicely. Rats are all done and enjoying their clean cage with their toys replaced with others. Just need to start on my bedroom.... after I finish my cuppa.

lolol... yes! was definitely meaning the free ones! :D Do you know the cheapest place for refills, or the cheapest way to get them? I saw them at £3 odd in Asda.

Haven't changed my Euros yet. Tell me more. :)

Hope the mot goes well.... and the crown!

I might have to sell my crown to pay for any work if it fails the MOT!!

Refills?? You don't buy them silly, you simply refill them. Just prise off the top and fill with liquid soap. Takes a little effort the first time, but after that easy peasy. I bought loads of the Tesco baby bath stuff when it was 8p, but that is a little runny - I now mix that with a cheap liquid soap (75% baby bath) and that works well.

    I'll pm you.

EDIT: just had an email saying I've got £3 worth of coupons from those nice Tesco people - God knows where they come from, maybe all those coupons I've used??

I know, I don't think I could go back to just chucking things in the trolley now.

Your rats sound fab. One of my next door neighbours has some from a rescue centre, they're so cute!

Small spend yesterday. A friend & I decided instead of going to the wine bar near me, we'd get a bottle from the shop & watch a film, so saved a fair bit there :T Whilst in the shop I spotted alpro soya cream so got some of that, and going to do smoked salmon from the freezer in a creamy sauce with pasta tomorrow, will be enough for two portions so probably have that on Saturday as well. Yum.

Meeting was cancelled today so used the time to do some much needed housework.

£204 at the dentist, Lynsey  Hope you haven't had any shock with the car as well!

I've had a long day out so lunch was whilst walking, 2 choc biscuits. Just recovering before I cook my pancakes. Did nearly 18,000 steps on my pedometer today and I got 1 train and 3 buses too, lucky I didn't walk the whole lot! Got some eggs from the farm shop I found.

Then spent just under £30 in Waitrose on the way back. Maybe I should be embarrassed about that on here!! Cheaper than putting in an Ocado order though.. and all essential items like butter, flour, etc ie things that don't tend to be reduced.

Finally some good news, car passed MOT (hubby took it), but just and may need work later on (brakes and pipes)!!
Probably time to start looking for another one and pass on the problems to someone else. :D
Though he did say it was solid and possibly only needs what he stated.
£25 well spent, those vouchers do come in handy. ;)

Had the fishfingers and only 1 packet left, made some fishcakes with some smoked pouting (9p) and a cod fillet (25p).

Might try Sainsburys after 7.30pm, see if there's any cheap fruit and veg, also need milk tomorrow, so if I get any bargains I'll buy the milk at Sainsburys and waste 18p. lol
