The satay one is really lovely; I actually had four of these for free as I made an off the cuff remark on BDs facebook page about how I wouldn't be using my coupon for a free stir fry shot on the sweet and sour because it sounded awful, I did clarify to them that I hadn't tried the sweet and sour just didn't think I would try it and they still insisted on sending me two free sachets in the post-one of which was the satay I had already got for free (as I got two free coupons I also tried another variety too, cannot remember which one though). I think it would be a bit thin to use on actual real satay, i.e. meat threaded onto skewers but as a stir fry sauce it is lovely and does have quite a decent quantity of peanuts in there xx0

nsd today. Had bacon butties for breakfast, ryvita and cheese for a late lunch and I am going to use the last of my giant cauliflower with cheese sauce for tea. I am seriously addicted to cauliflower cheese at the moment!!
Kids are having spaghetti and meatballs for tea - hope there aren't too many complaints.
Got the first of my BBC Good Food magazines today from the 3 for £3 offer - it has some lovely recipes in it
might go for a wander round Sainsburys later to look for whoopsies - haven't had any good ones for AGES!Jane

Boys are having sausage and smash with sweetcorn tonight, I am ashamed to say I buy the value packet mash potato and have a few packs in the cupboard. My boys like it anyway lol
don't be ashamed! I like 'value packet mash' and living on my own, can't be bothered sometimes to make real mash and happily use the packet stuff!
Today I resisted the calling of the chippy and forced myself to stick to meal planner! Lunch was my home made kidney bean and mango chutney pate with a pitta from the freezer. Dinner was a cheese omelette with new potatoes and peas. Pud was a thawed 'frozen' chocolate cake mousse pot thingy from Sainsburys on offer recently 2 for 50p bargain :jI love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

I used the szechuan stir fry shot in the end-it was lovely. Also made up a batch of dried american style pancake mix with flour, sugar, baking powder and milk powder, and made some bread which is rising atm. Since I had a bag of unopened wholemeal flour with a BB date of oct 31st last year I made it more wholemeal to try to use quite a bit of that up, and just added a tiny bit of white bread flour in at the end, also used dried sachet yeast where the BB was end of feb so maybe past its best but I used 3 sachets just in case and so far it is working well. It only made one loaf in the end though as wholemeal is not as bulky and doesn't rise as well as white xx0

Just had this with 10p's worth (1/3) of swede, and 2 veg sausages
http://vegbox-recipes.co.uk/recipes/swede-recipe-2.php
My freezer/cupboard stocks don't really seem to be reducing that quick despite my lower spends so far since the New Year.
Going to continue with my milkman deliveries for a bit, they have soya milk on offer so it's now cheaper than Morrisons for the next month and I don't have to go and get it0 -

Kirri that recipe is low carb yay.. thanks for that. I'd omit the salt as I only put salt on eggs now. Really improved my tastebuds but took getting used to. Heinz cream of tomato soup, a childhood fave, now tastes unbearably sweet.
As my OH is reasonably well trained I am posting this while lounging on loveseat drinking peppermint tea (Lidl) while he cooks lamb chops with green beans, peas and carrots0 -
Yep, it's a really good recipe, I've made it quite a few times. I also don't use salt that much, I stopped adding it at the table or in most recipes many years ago though use it a little now again, also on eggs bizarrely! but I find most processed items far too salty so I rarely buy things ready made, especially jar sauces, bread etc. It's all what you get used to and you don't realise so much till you give it up, bit shocking how much is added by commercial food producers.0

The Morrisons British lamb chops £10/kg from butchery counter were SUPERB, best we've had in ages. Thoroughly recommend them.0

Had the ham wraps for lunch, was yummy had it with cucumber and mixed leaves, was gonna have takeaway as i thought i had run out completely of quick meals, but i have just now had the last-minute of the oven chips and 2 of my homemade steak bakes, Will have to get some more quick food in or make it, as it really does stop me spending money on takeaway.
So a day almost completely from freezer, wraps, ham, chips and steak bakes, porridge from cupboard and only cucumber and mixed leaves bought.
Goo.g to walthamstow tomorrow to have dinner with my cousin, the market is a mile long, so going to go early enough to have a browse and get some decent cheap fruit and veg, only what I can carry though as i will be getting bus and train, as the Victoria line is not running tomorrow, on the way back will go to the m&s I. Liverpool st check out whoopsies, I'm budgeting £10 of my gc budget to tomorrow's little outing, should be able to get some good stuff as i will be in Quite a few areas,
Off to get my food out the oven, have a good evening all, will report my bargain finds tomorrow.Lose 28lb 3/28lb
