Anyone got any ideas what I could make with the sausage meat? Apart from stuffing lol.

What about making Scotch Eggs if you have any eggs you need using up?
Just hard boil the eggs, peel and wrap them in flattened out sausage meat and then roll them in breadcrumbs or even crunched up cornflakes. Lovely fried or oven baked, serve hot or cold with salad/potatoes/pasta or anything else that needs using up.

I'll put my thinking cap on for some alternatives.
    I'll catch up tomorrow!

BTW Lynsey - sausages make nice meatballs!! I did a pasta bake over christmas using sausagemeat balls and it was nice!

I think I can make you all feel a whole lot better without leaving my puter!

Off the top of my head I know I have 50 tins of chopped tomatoes, 12 tins of berlotti beans, 12 tins of cannelloni beans, about 15 tins of chick peas, 36 tins of processed peas and about 8 kgs of red lentils.

I also have an Amercian Fridge Freezer full to bursting, and a 10 cubic foot chest freezer that I can't get anything else in.

I'm considering buying an upright freezer to help me organise my stash, especially now I've found the coupon thread!

I probably do need help as there's only me, DH and a four year old.

Maybe I should do a proper list though I did a rough meal plan and could think of ab out 30 meals, that's proper meals, not silly made up ones!

I got free Phili cheese today, so now I have that too.

There are 2 recipes which caught my eye on January grocery challenge for sausagemeat plait and sausagemeat patties. I haven't tried them but they sound nice.

No I don't live in the middle of no-where, a very small town just outside Leicester. Got a couple of supermarkets, but I do begrudge paying massive prices. The tomatoes are usually reduced to 20-25p per tin at Diwali time so I buy a year's worth.

They are not kept indoors mind you, I have an outside utility room with some shelving in, so it's actually more organised if you have more of one thing.

It is nice, though because I was ill with a virus just before Christmas and I really didn't need to go out for food and we ate proper food.

I find it very difficult though to organise my chest freezer, how does anyone else organise them (or maybe you don't and that's why you're all here!)

    Hello and help! :o

It’s only me & 12 yo DD, so I think I have enough in for about six months. I’ve always picked up the RTC, but a couple of months ago we got a new Morrie’s & I don’t think they have optimised their stock orders yet, as lots heavily reduced as early as 6pm when I am passing anyway two days a week.

In my (two) freezers, I have:

    1.94kg pork sausages
    0.7kg Cumberland sausages
    0.45kg Lincolnshire sausages
    0.54kg cocktail sausages
    1.13kg sausagemeat
    1.72kg bacon
    2.13kg ham
    0.36kg corned beef

    1.91kg chicken breasts
    0.4kg duck breasts
    0.28kg turkey breasts

    0.27kg sandwich steak
    0.32kg think cut steak
    0.36kg rump steak
    0.37kg stewing steak

    1.67kg pork loin

    1.7kg beef mince
    2.3kg lamb mince
    2.7kg pork mince

    0.64kg fish pie mix
    0.93kg haddock
    1.96kg cod
    0.84kg coley
    0.9kg tuna steaks
    1.1kg trout
    1.36kg smoked haddock
    1.22kg smoked cod
    0.57kg smoked mackerel
    1kg peppered mackerel
    0.73kg smoked salmon
    0.82kg salmon
    0.25kg tandoori salmon
    0.15kg lemon sole
    0.13kg plaice
    0.29kg kipper
    2 tilapia fillets
    4 sea bass fillets

Plus 23 HM meal portions, a fish pie, 4 breaded chicken fillets, 6 fishcakes, 3 fish in parsley sauce, 2 battered haddock, 4 gammon steaks, beefburgers, beef quarterpounders, veggie quarter pounders, quorn pieces & mince, 3 large pizzas, 2 small pizzas, various frozen veg & a few other bits & bobs.

This is just a freezer with a fridge freezer & an under counter one, so goodness knows how I got that lot in there … definitely a case of push it in, slam the door & hope! It’s all logged & maintained on a spreadsheet, so I always know exactly what is in.

In the cupboards there are 178 cans of food, including 25 of baked beans, 21 of tuna & 26 of tomatoes … and of course masses of pasta, cous cous, polenta, rice etc. & numerous herbs, spices, oils, vinegars etc. Bit overwhelming & don't know where to start!!
